Today we have started ‘Healthy body, Happy me week’ with Munching Monday by exploring lots of different fruits and vegetables. At snack time we got to try cucumber, carrot, red pepper, tomato, mango, and grapefruit, whilst discussing the different textures, smells and flavours of each food. The children found some of the food such as the carrot and cucumber to be “crunchy” whilst the mango and grapefruit were “squishy.” All the children were very good at either touching, smelling, or tasting the the food we brought out and expressed great joy in sharing what they thought 🍊🍅🥭🥕🥒

The tigers have been carrying on with our interest in exploring different countries and cultures today!
We have learnt a few words in Lithuanian such as how to say hello and thank you as well as exploring the different jewellery.
On top of this we had a go at making some more Lithuanian foods, this time exploring Cepelinai, which are large potato dumplings. The tigers had a lot of fun mashing and grating potatoes as well as smelling the different ingredients before rolling the food into a dumpling shape ready for cooking

Today we have been exploring our interest in the planet earth and going on journeys in an airplane. ✈️
We have started by exploring the country Lithuania and learning lots of cool facts about it such as how it can get as cold as -20c and how close it was to England.
We then explored the different food they have and had ago at making Šaltibarščiai which is a cold beetroot soup they eat. The tigers helped to cut up all the ingredients and mixed them together, investigating the items before adding them. Then at lunch time we tried the soup as our starter 😋

Today we have been carrying on with our Winter Olympics where we explored the bobsleigh event.
We use a skateboard as our bobsleigh and counted out how far they managed to travel before the skateboard stopped. 🛷😄

Today we have started looking at the Winter Olympics as the children have been interested in all the different countries. We kicked it off by playing curling and ‘ice’ hockey!

This morning we had a look at Curling and tried out our own version. The children had to push their cone onto the red circle and would get points for the amount of their cones that were closer then the other teams. All the children had a lot of fun working as a team to score the most points!

This afternoon the tigers played “ice’ hockey on a table. This time they had to try and score as many times as they could in 2 minutes. The cats enjoyed indoor ice hockey, playing in two teams to try and get the ball into the goal using sticks. All the children had fun cheering on their friends and having a go at the different sports 🏑⛸️

The cats had a great time getting creative in the garden, using guttering to roll painty balls down the guttering, leaving coloured marks behind 🎨👩‍🎨

This morning the cubs and kittens have enjoyed getting messy with paint! We used pieces of bubble wrap to make a dotty effect on our paper, going ‘pop pop pop’. We then moved on to using our hands to smear it across the table and squished it in between our fingers. Some of our friends enjoyed moving their hands around the paint tray and watching as the marks were left behind in a different way.
