Laugh and Learn Pre-school is situated in Tarring Village and is set back well away from any traffic offering safe easy access for parents and children. 🌟 Shapes, Shapes Everywhere — What a fantastic week of learning! 🌟

This week, our little learners have been exploring all things shapes, discovering how shapes can be found and used in so many different ways all around us. 🔺🟠🟦

🏠 We created our own shape houses and characters, using our imaginations to bring different shapes to life and talking about the shapes we used.

🧩 We enjoyed matching shapes using a large cardboard shape slot board, developing our shape recognition, problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination.

🎶💃 We got creative with shapes through music and dance, using our bodies to make different shapes and exploring movement in a fun and active way.

🧱 We discovered how we can use shapes for a purpose during construction, selecting different shapes to help us build and create.

🎨 We made shape collages, exploring different shapes, sizes and textures while developing our creativity and fine motor skills.

👀 We also became shape detectives, spotting and identifying lots of different shapes in our environment and beginning to recognise how shapes are all around us!

What a wonderful week of discovering, creating, moving, building and learning together! 🌈✨

🌟 What a wonderful week of learning! 🌟

This week, our little learners have been busy exploring colours, sounds, creativity and imaginative play through lots of fun, hands-on experiences. 🥰

✂️ We practised our fine motor skills with toilet roll haircuts, using scissors to carefully cut and create our own fun hairstyles.

🎨 We created an individual handprint banner, choosing our favourite colours and celebrating what makes each of us unique. 🌈

🔍 We went on a colour hunt outdoors, looking carefully at our environment and finding different colours all around us.

👂 We developed our listening skills through sound lotto games, concentrating carefully and matching sounds to the correct pictures.

🧵 We explored threading and fine motor skills using paper plates, developing our hand-eye coordination and concentration.

🥣 We enjoyed making our very own Gruffalo Granny Stew, using our imaginations to mix, stir and create our delicious pretend recipes! 🐻🌲

🥕 Our vegetable farm tuff tray provided lots of opportunities for sensory and imaginative play as we explored vegetables, farming and our natural world.

🧪 We continued exploring colour mixing, experimenting with different colours and discovering what happens when we mix them together.

📮 We also reused cardboard to create a Laugh and Learn recycling postbox, encouraging creativity while beginning to explore the importance of reusing and recycling materials. ♻️💚

🌟 Friendships and Getting to Know Each Other — What a lovely week of learning! 🌟

This week, our little learners have continued exploring friendships and getting to know one another through a variety of creative, sensory and imaginative activities. 🥰

❄️ We explored mark making in the snow while creating train tracks, developing our early writing skills and investigating the marks we could make in a different texture.

🪞 We used magic mirrors to look at ourselves and talk about our similarities and differences, celebrating what makes each of us unique.

🧪 We created friendship potions using coloured water, jugs, bowls, test tubes and glitter. This wonderful sensory activity encouraged imaginative play, sharing and talking about friendships. ✨

🍃 We made friendship leaves to add to our hanging friendship mobile, creating something special together to celebrate the friendships within our preschool family. 💚

🥁 We enjoyed junk modelling musical instruments, using our creativity and imagination to design and make our own instruments from recycled materials.

🚗 We continued working on our Laugh and Learn roadmap, using craft cars, roads and wheels to develop our imaginative play and extend our teamwork.

🎨 We explored free painting and colour mixing, experimenting with colours and expressing our ideas through art.

🏰 Our fairytale-themed tuff tray encouraged imaginative and sensory play, as we explored coloured rice and fairytale creatures of all shapes and sizes. 🐉✨

🗣️ Next week, our preschool curriculum focus will be on making free choices and sharing our likes and dislikes. We’ll be encouraging the children to express their preferences, make independent choices and learn more about what makes each of us special. 💛

🌟 All About Me — What a wonderful week of learning! 🌟

This week, our little learners have been exploring what makes each of us special through our All About Me focus. 🥰

🎨 We painted and decorated self-portraits, talking about our similarities and differences and celebrating what makes us unique.

🐷 We made Peppa Pig puppets using craft materials, sticks and glue, encouraging creativity and developing our fine motor skills.

🏃‍♀️ We explored different ways of moving and practised negotiating space and sharing resources with our friends during our outdoor obstacle course.

🔢 We developed our early maths skills by exploring counting and quantity while playing with number blocks.

🗺️ We worked together as a team to create a large Laugh and Learn roadmap, sharing ideas and building something special together.

👆 We also began creating our fingerprint canvas collage, marking our very own “print” in our Laugh and Learn family. Every little fingerprint is unique, just like each of our children! 💛

What a lovely week of creativity, teamwork, friendship and discovering more about ourselves! 🌈✨

🤝 Next week, we will be focusing on building friendships and getting to know each other, helping our children develop connections, learn about their friends and feel a sense of belonging within our preschool family. 💕

What a wonderful evening at our end-of-term family picnic at Goring Gap, enjoying the glorious sunshine together! ☀️
It was so special to celebrate our school leavers during our Graduation service. It has been a real privilege to support them through their first steps in education and watch each of them grow and flourish during their time with us.
Now it's time for their next exciting adventure as 'big school' awaits.
We are so proud of every one of them. 🎓

🌈✨ This Week's Curriculum – Inclusion & Celebrating Who We Are! ✨🌈

What a colourful and exciting week we've had at Laugh and Learn! ❤️

This week's curriculum has been focused on inclusion and celebrating who we are. Through a range of fun and engaging activities, we have been teaching the children about the importance of equality, diversity and kindness, encouraging them to express themselves confidently and celebrate what makes each of us unique. 🌟

🌈 We explored colours through our rainbow rice sensory trays, developing our fine motor skills while engaging our senses.
🔢 The children enjoyed exploring numerals and quantity using our rainbow pom-pom activity and had lots of fun matching numbers and numerals during our giant bingo game.
🎨 We celebrated our individuality by drawing portraits of one another and expressing ourselves during our Funky Thursday and Laugh and Learn Carnival. It was wonderful to see everyone's unique personalities shine! 🥳🎭
👣 Using our senses, we created a beautiful footprint rainbow and enjoyed talking about why it is important to be proud of who we are and to celebrate the wonderful differences that make us all special.
🤝 Together, we created a friendship paper chain to represent the caring friendships we have built and started creating our Wall of Fame ahead of our Leavers' Picnic, celebrating all of the amazing achievements our children have made this year. ⭐

💬 The children's learning was accessed naturally through meaningful conversations, imaginative play and celebrating one another throughout the week. Our teaching continues to be embedded within everyday play and experiences, allowing every child to develop confidence, knowledge and transferable skills in a fun and nurturing environment.

☀️💦 Next Week's Curriculum: Summer Fun! We can't wait for lots of exciting outdoor activities, water play and sunshine-themed learning! 🌻🍦

🐻🏅 This Week at Laugh and Learn 🏅🐻

This week's curriculum has focused on Bears and Sports Day! 🎉

Throughout the week, the children have enjoyed a variety of exciting bear-themed activities, including creating their own Bear Puppets 🐻, taking part in Bear Boat Races ⛵, enjoying a Teddy Bears' Picnic 🧺 and, of course, our fantastic Sports Day! 🏃‍♀️🏅 Not forgetting everyone's favourite activity... Throw the Wet Sponge at Sara! 💦😂

Our bear-themed resources have supported teaching across many areas of learning, encouraging the children to explore number and numerals 🔢, colour matching 🌈 and imaginative small world play 🧸. Through play, the children have continued to develop their communication, problem-solving and social skills while having lots of fun.

We were also very excited to welcome some beautiful butterflies 🦋 into the Laugh and Learn family! After watching their incredible life cycle, the children helped set them free. They came up with some wonderfully creative names, including the fabulous Beyoncé! ✨

🌈 Next Week's Curriculum 🌈

Next week we will be focusing on Pride, teaching the children about the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion. Through a range of activities, we will encourage the children to express themselves freely, celebrate what makes each of us unique and develop kindness, respect and acceptance for others. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

🐛 This week, our curriculum has been all about things that creep, crawl and slither as we celebrated Insect Week! 🐞🦋 We also made the most of lots of 💦 water and 🧊 ice play to help stay cool during the hot weather. ☀️ Hope you all managed to survive the heat!

📖 The children have enjoyed exploring the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They learnt about the 🦋 life cycle of a butterfly by using their ✂️ scissor skills to cut out each stage and carefully stick them in the correct order. They also got creative by making their own giant 🐛 caterpillars using 🎨 paint and 🥔 potato printing.

🐛 We have been closely observing our very own caterpillars at preschool as we wait for them to transform into butterflies. As of today, they have all formed their chrysalises! 🦋✨ We are so excited to watch what happens over the coming days.

🔢 To support their numeracy skills, the children matched pictures of 🐞 insects and 🦋 butterflies to the correct number of spots before pairing them with the corresponding numerals. It was wonderful to see our older children showing such ❤️ kindness by helping and encouraging the younger children to complete the activity.

🐜 After discovering lots of ants in our garden, the children were inspired to create their own ant colony. Using a variety of 🖍️ materials and resources, they worked together brilliantly 🤝 to build a fantastic masterpiece.

🧸 Next week, our curriculum will focus on bears! 🐻 We have lots of exciting bear-themed activities planned, including our much-anticipated annual 🧺 Teddy Bears' Picnic. As well as taking part in our own 'Sports Day'
