Finding a nursery you can trust to care for your child in their early years can be a daunting task. With this in mind we have set out to create an independently run nurturing and homely nursery setting where all children, parents and staff can feel the true sense of a “home from home.”

Home from Home Nursery Worthing is set within a spacious and charismatic detached Victorian house on leafy Grand Avenue and only a pebble’s throw from the beach. Our warm and comforting colour scheme, natural wooden furniture, large spacious rooms and beautiful acre of garden ensures the children benefit from a familiar, fun and relaxing environment. Free movement between rooms is central to our ethos. The garden with lawn, wood chip, decking, scientific area, fruit trees, children’s allotment and hideaway is treated as an extension to the house where the children are free to explore, learn and play. Our child care covers 6 months to 5 years operating from 7.30 am to 6 pm weekdays. Our small staff to child ratios of 1:2 in our Toddler Unit and 1:4 in our Pre-school ensure the highest level of personal care and bonding with your child.

🌾💛 Harvest Festival Giving 💛🌾

This morning, our Preschoolers and Toddlers visited Worthing Soup Kitchen to deliver all of the wonderful food you donated as part of our Harvest Festival collection. 🥫🍎🥫

A huge thank you to all of our families for your incredibly generous donations. Your kindness will make a real difference to local people in our community. ❤️

The children loved helping to put all of the food away in the right places, ready for people to collect. It was a lovely opportunity for them to learn about kindness, helping others and being part of our local community. 🌈

On the way home, our Preschoolers took it in turns to have a ride in the trolley — which was definitely a highlight of their morning!

We had a very special visit from ZooLab yesterday, and the children were absolutely fascinated! 🤩

We got to meet some amazing animals up close, including a giant snail 🐌, millipede 🪱, snake 🐍, gerbil 🐹 and frog 🐸!

The children had the opportunity to carefully look at and learn about each animal, discovering lots of interesting facts along the way. Some were feeling very brave and even had the chance to hold them! 🥰

It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, helping the children develop their understanding of the natural world while building confidence and curiosity. 🌿🔎

🌳🚦 Pre-School Adventures! 🚌✨

With our school leavers now off on their next big adventure, Pre-School has been enjoying a little more peace and quiet — so we’ve taken full advantage and headed out on some exciting trips! 💚

One group put their road safety skills to the test, practising how to stay safe when out and about, while another group enjoyed exploring the park, discovering what they could find and making the most of the fresh air. 🌿🔍

It’s been a lovely opportunity for the children to learn, explore and build confidence in the wider community — and, of course, have lots of fun along the way! 🥰🌳

We’re already looking forward to seeing where our next adventure takes us! 💫

The baby room enjoyed spending some time with Beckie in our Forest area, they looked at the animal cuddly toys, got very messy with the mud and water play, had a go at swinging on the swing and also explored the area looking for bugs and what was around us in nature. We love being outside ❤️

Summer is finally here! We have enjoyed the sunshine by spending lots of time in the allotment, exploring ice play to keep cool, it was insect week last week so we looked at different insects and did big hunts, we also set our butterflies free.

We are waiting for our Butterflies to hatch out of their cocoons!
The Pre-school children did a lovely dot to dot activity to create their own butterflies. We have been learning all about the life cycle and it has been a great experience to watch them turning from caterpillars into cocoons in real time.
