We believe all children have the right to be understood as individuals and to be given an opportunity to develop as creative, competent learners in an inspiring environment with lots of access to the outdoors We draw our inspiration from the infant-toddler centres and pre-schools of Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy and we operate a Forest School taking children aged 3-5 years into local woodland.

Today marks a very special milestone as Reflections turns 20! 🥳💛

What an incredible journey it has been — 20 years of memories, laughter, learning, growing and, most importantly, being part of so many little ones’ early years. 🌱

We’ve watched generations of children grow, welcomed countless wonderful families through our doors and built a truly amazing team along the way.

Here’s to 20 years of love, dedication, adventures and making a difference… and to all the exciting memories still to come! 🥂✨

At Beach School, the children have been captivated by the ever-changing waves and weather. Each visit brings new discoveries as they explore the beach with curiosity, noticing how the shoreline changes from day to day and searching for treasures along the way.

The beach provides a rich, open-ended environment where all areas of learning can come together. It is a physical space where children connect with one another, explore the natural world and develop their understanding through first-hand experiences. As they investigate, create, question and play, they draw on their existing knowledge while developing new ideas, skills and ways of thinking.

👮‍♀️🚔 A special visit today! 🚔👮‍♂️

We were very excited to welcome our local police officers to the nursery today! The children loved seeing the police car, learning a little about what the police do and asking lots of curious questions. 🌟

A big thank you to our local officers for taking the time to visit us and make it such a fun and engaging experience for the children! 💙

Pre school children exploring the beach, feeling the sensation of water on their toes. They discovered a tiny crab and were concerned for its safety, not wanting anyone to accidentally step on it. This led to an engaging discussion about the various ways animals can conceal themselves to avoid being stepped on. The children unanimously concluded that the best hiding place was under the sand, which they noted was also true for sand worms who leave trails across the surface.
It was delightful to watch them splash around and laugh, their friendships blossoming through experiences like these.

In the Willows section children have been creating artwork with coloured tissue paper and glue. The children enjoyed using glue sticks, scooping the glue and spreading it onto the paper. They then experimented with different techniques to display the tissue paper, such as scrunching it in their hands, tearing off small pieces, and rolling some into balls. It was wonderful to observe how the children transformed the tissue paper into various shapes and sizes.

Our youngest children - the babies took a trip to the beach. They loved exploring the pebbles, watching the waves, noticing the seagulls and a touching a boat! 🚣‍♂️ The babies loved sitting next to each other in the pushchairs and noticing their local community while travelling to our local beach. There was lots of chatting and babbling which was so lovely to see!

In the Willows section, our 1-2 year olds have been creating dinosaur footprints. They have been focusing on the word "stomp" and moving the dinosaurs through paint and then along paper, this help children develop hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
