Feeling a little emotional reading this beautiful message from a parent whose sons I’ve had the joy of teaching from Year 5 through to Year 8 as they break up for the summer and transition to a prestigious Independent Senior School in September:

“Thank you so much, firstly, for always making your lessons so fun and interesting and secondly, for all you have done for my boys over the time you have worked with them. It has been golden and we are so deeply grateful to you. They have become so much more confident with their English under your thoughtful and wise and diligent and fun care.”

Watching young learners grow in confidence and skill over the years is truly the greatest reward of this job. Grateful to do what I love, and to have families who appreciate the journey as much as I do 💛📚✨

'Everyone has a little bit of Autism/Asperger's in them...'

No they don't. Don't mistake anxiety for Autism/Asperger's. Don't mistake routine for Autism/Asperger's. Don't mistake passionate interests for Autism/Asperger's. Everyone can get anxious, follow a routine and have a passionate interest. Our brain literally functions in a completely different way. Thank you for sharing your story but Autism/Asperger's means my brain is wired differently, our responses to certain situations will be different. Check out the following image...

Our brain processes information differently, and that in turn affects how our anxiety, routine and passionate interests are presented. Understand?
