Not all young people are ready for the busy environment of a sixth form or further education college, so the year gives time to prepare them for the next step. Visits to colleges will be made so young people can become familiarised with what is on offer, reducing the fear of the unknown. Two or three-year programme offering a life and work skills programme. Workshops delivered by people from the world of work will give our young people an insight as to what jobs are available and what is necessary to achieve the goals. Springboard programme for those young people who just need a little time, such as a half or full term, to readjust to the learning environment due to personal circumstances or the disruption this year has caused, which may have impacted on their learning and social development.
