Laura's Explorers Childminding

Wow what a great year 2025 has been at Laura's Explorers. It kicked off with our Ofsted visit in January, we welcomed lots of new little people, said goodbyes to those ready to move on to school / preschool and had lots of adventures along the way.
I want to thank everyone for their support as always and for trusting me to look after your little people. I am looking forward to more, fun, laughter and chaos in 2026!
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you have the best time celebrating together.

When It’s Time to Say Goodbye some thoughts by Emma Brown

Being a childminder isn’t just a job. It’s opening your heart, your home, and your arms to a little soul who becomes a huge part of your world.

From the moment they arrive — often tiny, unsure, full of wonder — you become part of their everyday. You get to know their quirks, their giggles, their favourite stories, and the exact way they like their toast. You wipe their tears, celebrate their milestones, and gently guide them as they grow — slowly, then all at once.

And then, one day, they’re ready for school. Because while you’ve spent months, maybe years, preparing them for this moment — nothing quite prepares you.

They walk out of your door for the last time as “your little one,” and a piece of you walks out with them.

You’ve nurtured them, loved them, and helped shape who they’re becoming. And now they’re ready for the next chapter. You know they’ll shine. But still — you’ll miss their little voice, their hugs, their presence in your day.

You’ll always be part of their story. And they’ll always be part of yours.
Because this is what it means to be a childminder: to love deeply, give wholeheartedly, and let go — over and over again. 💛

Super excited and proud to finally be able to share this with you all.
We were visited by OFSTED back in January and they concluded that Laura's Explorers was "Good" in all areas. You can view the report on the OFSTED website within the next few weeks.
A big thanks to all the children and families who were involved in the inspection. 😀👍🤩

Laura's Explorers 2023 that's a wrap!
Wow what a brilliant year we have had and all rounded off with our Christmas dinner and party days this week. I feel very lucky that I get to call this my job!
Wishing all of my children and their families a wonderful Christmas and Happy new year.
Thanks for all your lovely cards, gifts, Christmas wishes and support over the past year.
