Today, we welcomed No More Knives to the Academy for a powerful and important message about knife crime, raising awareness of its consequences and the impact it can have on individuals, families and communities.

A brilliant performance from OTCband, combining music, energy and an important message that we hope will stay with our students long after today. 🎶👏

𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁! 🏆

What a week for sport at The Lowry Academy! All five of our teams came away with victories, keeping us undefeated across all sports teams! 🔥💙

A special shoutout to our Year 10 girls’ netball team, who secured a fantastic 10-8 win against Buile Hill last week! Mariarma led the scoring with seven goals, while Itohan added three. Despite a last-minute dropout, Danaka stepped up from Year 9 and went on to earn Player of the Match! 👏🌟

🌟💡 𝗔𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺!

Earlier this week, was our Year 7 Grammar Stream launch event.

Families learned more about how the programme works, the exciting opportunities available to our students, and what makes our Grammar Stream such a fantastic experience. We also heard from our current Year 8 Grammar Stream students, who shared their experiences and insights into life on the programme.

We’re excited to see our newest cohort begin their journey, embrace new challenges and make the most of the opportunities ahead!

A reminder that our Bake Sale is taking place tomorrow - please encourage your child to bring in some change, grab a treat and help us raise money for two fantastic causes! 💙🧁

🍰 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲 - 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿! 🍰

Our bake sale is happening during lunchtime on Friday 9th October, with all money raised being split between Macmillan Cancer Support and YoungMinds. 💚

Students can bring a small donation in exchange for a sweet treat, or get involved by bringing in their own baked goods! Homemade or shop-bought bakes are welcome and highly appreciated! 🧁

⚠️ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁: If you’re bringing in food, you must bring a full ingredients list with you. This is a nut-free event, so please do not bring anything containing nuts.
