RELEVANT REPRESENTATION / OBJECTION TO WHITESTONE SOLAR FARM

I am writing to formally register my strong objection to the proposed Whitestone Solar Farm Development Consent Order application. As a local resident living in/near [Dinnington / your village/street], this massive scheme will have a severe direct impact on my daily life and the surrounding countryside.

My primary grounds for objection are:

1. Visual Impact & Industrialisation of the Countryside:
The scale of this proposed development is disproportionate. It replaces green, open countryside with industrial solar infrastructure, high security fencing, and sub-stations. [Personal detail: This site directly affects my daily routine / views from my property / regular walking route along (insert local path/road name), destroying the rural character and peace of our community.]

2. Cumulative Impact on Dinnington and Surrounding Villages:
Our local area is already suffering from cumulative pressure from multiple energy and development projects (including the nearby Common Farm solar development). Enclosing our villages with panels and battery storage creates a dominant industrial landscape that strips away the rural identity of the Rother Valley.

3. Loss of Productive Agricultural Land:
At a time when national food security is critical, taking over 1,000 hectares of farmland out of food production for up to 60 years is unacceptable. Good quality agricultural land should be protected, and solar generation should be directed to brownfield sites and commercial rooftops first.

4. Highway Safety and Construction Traffic:
The local road network around Dinnington and nearby corridors is simply not built for heavy construction traffic. High volumes of HGVs during construction will cause severe traffic congestion, road wear, noise, and safety hazards along roads I use daily for [work commutes / school runs / daily trips].

5. Ecology and Quality of Life:
The loss of natural habitats, disruption to local wildlife corridors, and the potential noise/fire safety concerns associated with large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) severely reduce the quality of life for nearby residents.

For these reasons, I believe the environmental, visual, and daily impacts on our community far outweigh the proposed benefits of this scheme at this location. I urge the Examining Authority to recommend refusal of this Development Consent Order.

Use this service to have your say about a national infrastructure project. We need your personal details and your comments about the Whitestone Solar Farm.

We're seeing an increase in ticks at the moment. Possibly because there are a lot of deer in the area. We're more than happy to remove them for you, just pop in. If you remove them yourself be sure to wrap them in sellotape so they can't continue the life cycle. Engorged females can lay hundreds of eggs ๐Ÿคฎ this one was wrapped in eternal love ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Ticks can be carriers of Lyme disease. If they bite an infected host then that could transfer the disease to their next host. Lyme disease isn't prevalent in this area thankfully but symptoms can take months to present.
