Happy Friday from the hatchlings team ☺️smiles all around today! Here is a round up of our week !
•Our focus colour this week was Blue 🩵
•Our focus shape was a circle ⭕️
•And our focus number was number 6 !

We had activities throughout the week that support holistic development,our activities varied from an ocean beach themed tray to washing toy farm yard animals and singing old McDonald!
The children have had a great week and have enjoyed all of our activities 🩵🌊

Today, the nestlings explored a healthy eating tuff tray and made their own smoothies. They used spoons to scoop the fruit into their cups and mixed it all together. There was also a taste test!

The Roosters have had a fantastic time in the garden today. We have had two tuff trays available for free exploration.

This morning we explored and discussed a turtle’s environment. We used different pastas and dyed them fun colours to imitate the sea and the coral. We laid some sand out and discussed what colours we could see and how the different materials felt in our hands, and how they smelled. 🐢

This afternoon, we went on a bear hunt! Each area of this activity symbolised one of the six different environments from the story. Each was made up of natural, man-made and foot materials, so that all the children had the ability to explore freely. We spoke about how the weather in each environment, and what each material feels like. We used descriptive words like, ‘cold,’ ‘sticky,’ ‘warm,’ and ‘bitty.’ 🐻

We have had a brilliant day exploring, and the Roosters were superstars with helping tidy up too! 🩵

Today in nestlings, we explored a dinosaur-themed tuff tray that encouraged us to engage all our senses. We used descriptive words like "slimy," "spiky," and "stomp" to express the textures and actions related to the dinosaurs.

 💜 Hatchlings - they have had a fantastic time this morning making potions with wildflowers, fresh lavender, and lemon-scented water🌸🍋🌿

We used various utensils to enhance their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity, getting delightfully messy in the process💜

Additionally, best of luck to Chris, our nursery caretaker in running the Manchester marathon this Sunday! 🏃👟

Roosters have been enjoying the spring water tray today. They have enjoyed catching the water from the water fountain, fishing for fish and exploring the Lilly pads.

The Roosters really enjoyed planting peas and ensuring they get a good drink of water. There has been lots of lovely conversation about what plants need to grow. It's been a wonderful day in the allotment!
