We’re delighted to welcome OW Richard Winsor (P 95–98) back as our Guest of Honour for Speech Day! 🌻

Since leaving Worksop, Richard has enjoyed an incredible career across television, film and theatre. Many will know him as Dr Cal Knight from Casualty, where he appeared in more than 200 episodes, while others may have recently spotted him in Coronation Street. On stage, he has performed around the world with Sir Matthew Bourne’s award-winning company, starring in productions including Edward Scissorhands, Swan Lake and The Car Man.

Speech Day is one of the most important events in the College calendar, and we look forward to welcoming all pupils, parents and staff as we come together to celebrate another successful year☀️

Enjoy a delicious lunch, live music, paid bars, the return of the traditional Speech Day cricket match, pupil exhibitions, Chapel performances and much more. You'll even have the chance to meet Richard himself!

And why not make a day of it? Grandparents, family members and friends are all warmly invited to join the celebrations. Just let us know who's coming along so we can make sure we've got enough delicious lunch waiting for everyone! 🍓🥂👉 trybooking.com/uk/GEVE

Come and support our Portlanders! ✨🎭

Our Year 7 and 8 pupils have been working so hard on Portland House's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and we'd love to see as many people as possible in the audience supporting them.

This isn't your traditional Shakespeare production! While we're keeping the original language, we've given the play a fun 1980s-inspired twist, complete with colourful costumes, iconic 80s music, and plenty of energy. It's been carefully abridged too, making it a brilliant introduction to Shakespeare for younger audience members, while still offering something fresh for seasoned Shakespeare fans.

Whether you're coming for the comedy, the music, or simply to cheer on our talented Portlanders, it's set to be a fantastic evening and a show that's accessible and enjoyable for all ages.

🎟️ Tickets are just £5 each. We hope to see you there – our cast can't wait to share all their hard work with you!

Tomorrow we welcome our pupils back after half term, and with that comes the start of exam season at Worksop College 📚

While GCSE and A Level exams are now underway, pupils across all year groups will also be sitting internal exams over the coming weeks.

Mocks and internal exams are about much more than grades. They help pupils become familiar with exam conditions, build confidence, improve exam technique and develop revision habits that will support them throughout their education and beyond.

They’re also an opportunity to learn resilience, manage pressure and reflect on progress in a supportive environment - helping every pupil grow in confidence and independence.

For our staff, these assessments help us identify where support is needed most, ensuring we continue to get the very best out of every pupil.

We wish all of our pupils the very best as they begin the weeks ahead 💙

From practising in snow and pouring rain back in March… to completing their Gold DofE Qualifier in extreme heat last week ☀️

What never changed was the sheer determination, compassion and teamwork shown throughout by our pupils.

The Gold Qualifier is never easy, but challenges like these are where resilience is built and confidence grows. Every step, every hill and every difficult moment was tackled together 👏

Millie, Year 12, said:
“The experience was incredible although tough, we learned so much about teamwork, resilience, and just how much we can achieve.”

And of course… it wouldn’t be DofE without Miss Dalby stopping for a selfie with a sheep 🐑
