The best resource we’ve had out all week

The more a toy does the less a child will do
So taking something as simple as a box has made the childrens imaginations run wild!

This box has been
An art studio
A house
An ice cream shop
A boat
A roller coaster
A ball pit
A ball run

Can’t wait until tomorrow to see what else it could be 🤣

Toddlers are capable of so much more than we often give them credit for.

When we trust them, and give them the time, patience, and encouragement they need, they amaze us every single day.

By allowing children to have a go, make mistakes, and practise age-appropriate tasks
at their own pace, we help them build confidence, independence, and resilience. The pride on their faces when they achieve something for themselves is priceless.

The children today have been tidying and cleaning up after their breakfast this morning, even children as young as 13 months old help wipe down their highchair tray after eating!

This week we went strawberry picking 🍓It was an extremely windy day so we didn’t stay too long but the children loved sifting through the patch and finding the biggest strawberries
This was a lovely activity for them which they then ate at our afternoon snack time

What do we do to stay cool during the heatwave?

☀️Drinks are always in a drinks caddy for the children to get whenever they like and they are always reminded to have a drink and are regularly filled up

☀️ Ice lollies to cool them down (given to us by a very lovely mummy)

☀️ Cold picnic dinners in the shade

☀️ Water play available all day including paddling pools and spray bottles to keep us cool

☀️ keep inside during the hottest part of the day

☀️children can come inside whenever they like and have free flow play

☀️Fans on inside to keep cool

☀️ sleeping in the coolest room in the house

We had an amazing summer party yesterday
Thankyou so much for everyone who attended.
Events like this are so lovely for the families to come together and have a catch up as they only briefly see each other in passing at door time🩷 really appreciate all the families and friends who made the effort to come🩷🩷🎉

Some of the children’s next steps is to learn how to pour water into an open cup, so lots of water play is essential for this for them to understand different weights, capacity, measurements etc..
I love this new set up!
This was quickly set up whilst the children had their nap 💤
Just need water now 🤣
