MHA Amathea At Amathea, we provide residential and dementia care for our 40 residents in purpose-built, en suite accommodation.

We’re situated in the heart of Cumbrian market town, Workington, close to the River Derwent.

You have until 23 October to complete MHA's family and friends Care Home survey – this is a great chance for you to give us some valuable feedback about our home.

This week our wonderful residents have been celebration MHA Harvest Festival week 🍎 🍆 🥕 with harvest festival bingo, poems, quizzes and find the hidden objects. Many thanks go to our wonderful resident Alan who made all the harvest festival hats, picture board and some harvest festival decorations for our tree display👏 which we all thought was great👍😄 Some of our lovely residents also wanted a harvest festival choir, they choose the songs which they wanted to sing and practiced 🎼🎵this was followed by their own harvest festival choir on Monday which eveyone whom attended thought was also great😍 Other activities have included move and grove - arm chair exercises to music💪 😀 a lunch outing, plenty of sing along and dancing🎤🎼 Michael Jackson bingo and listening to his music, the winners received a prize. Our residents have enjoyed their week as you can see from their happy smiling faces 😀💕

Amathea are having a Harvest Festival Raffle, if you would like to take part the Raffle tickets cost £1.00 per strip.
1st prize - Halloween chocolate and sweet hamper 🎃
2nd prize - Fruit hamper 🍎
3rd prize - Vegetable hamper 🥦
We also have to guess the weight of the pumpkin £1.00 per guess.
These are all on display in the main entrance, the winner will be drawn on Thursday 29th October.
Many thanks go to Ellen our kitchen manager who has kindly donated the 2nd & 3rd prizes which will be made fresh on the day of the draw.

This week our wonderful residents have celebrated world Gratitude day, with Gratitude bingo and poems and some lovely treats, we each wrote down what we are greateful for and read them out and then put them in our gratitude jar. This promoted lots of discussion about the things we are grateful for 😊😍 other activities have included arm chair exercises to music💪 😀 pampering sessions including relaxing hand massages.💅 😊 This day in history 📃📜Hymns morning, dominoes and quiz tournaments and the winners of the dominoes tournament was Ray and Joe🏆not forgetting plenty of sing along and dancing🎤🎼 Our residents have had a great week as you can see from their happy smiling faces 😀💕
