Hopefully our final update!

Yesterday morning Mark had his surgery at the RVI. He went down to theatre at 9am and came out around 4.20pm after having an area of Crohn’s, a stricture and a fistula removed. It was a complicated operation but it went well, in fact he had the best result that he could have asked for, operation wise, as it was going to be one of three outcomes and the last one really wasn’t good. Part of that result is down to the fact that he hasn’t eaten even a mouthful of food in over 9wks, living off water, black coffee and Fortisip drinks and though he found it difficult, he wanted to give himself the best chance he could. So now to get him home, hopefully by the end of next week and then a bit of recovery time. But we have everything crossed that he will be up and running soon.

Once again we thank you for all the support and messages over all these last months. I have my reservations about posting how well he’s doing as every time I do, something happens! But he’s asked me to update as he has so many people asking and who have asked after him, that he wants a way to say thank you. It’s all a part of what’s got him through the pretty hard time he’s had. So, THANK YOU ALL 💙
