📝 Some Learning Highlights from a great first week back 📝:

🌟EYFS - have been sharing amounts in Maths 🧮 They have also had fun identifying what they would take to the seaside and practicing their cutting skills ✂️ They have also had a seafood taster session; EYFS were NOT impressed 😂 🐟
🌟 Year 1 - have been looking for animals around school to categorise into type in Science. In English, a suspicious packet of beans was left on Miss Wilkinson's desk, with a very clear warning sign! The children have loved this hook into their writing - so much so that they told Miss Copeland today that Miss Wilkinson was missing! 🤣 ...and it was the magic beans! 🌱🫘
🌟 Year 2 - have also enjoyed a full day of topic to introduce their new topic - England vs Kenya; Mrs Young has been super busy with the children designing African necklaces and masks ready for their new learning.
🌟 Year 3/4 - have enjoyed their science experiment this week - introducing their new topic of Animals including Humans. They have been learning all about the digestive system.
🌟 Year 4/5 - have enjoyed some Rainforest research today to introduce their new topic!
🌟 Year 6 - have enjoyed playing the pirate game with Mrs Paterson 🏴‍☠️☠️

📝Some learning highlights from before half term 📝:
🌟EYFS - enjoyed their Minibeast pebble painting 🎨 They have also loved watching their butteflies emerge! 🦋
🌟 Year 2 enjoyed some art - experimenting with blending and mixing the water colours.
🌟Year 3/4 finished their rugby sessions with some mini matches. 🏉🏉
🌟 Year 6 were researching the Mayan's and produced some fantastic reports from their interesting new facts. 🇲🇽

📝Some learning highlights from last week 📝:
🌟EYFS - Another fantastic PE session 🥎
They have also enjoyed modelling our own snails 🐌 using our fine motor skills to thread and roll; Investigating the class stick insects and adding more in Maths.
🌟 Year 1 have enjoyed some sketching outside. 🌿 They have also been busy sorting words into their different word classes. Well done Y1! 📝
🌟 Year 2 have enjoyed their creative writing hook. They enjoyed exploring the clues and created a wanted poster for the monster.
🌟Year 3/4 have been revisiting online safety through becoming Internet legends 💻

As a school we are looking to buy a sports kit for when children are representing our school at competitions. These do cost a significant amount of money. 🌟EYFS - have been practising their athletics. This week they have been learning to throw with the shot put. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
🌟 YEAR 1- have enjoyed using their senses for their Science investigations, matching body parts and counting in 2's in Maths. 👃👀
🌟 YEAR 2 - were celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday on Friday; after watching a documentary on his life and achievements, they created a class tree of ways to help protect the environment. 🌳🍃
🌟 YEAR 3/4 - have been recapping the time, testing their partners using the resources. 🕑🕚
🌟 YEAR 6 - have smashed another week of revision; the children used their revision posters to help them with word classes. 📝💪

A message for our Year 6

Good luck to all of our amazing Year 6 children for your SATs next week! 🌟

We are all so incredibly proud of the hard work, determination and effort you have shown throughout your revision. You have worked so hard and should all feel very proud of yourselves already.

Remember, SATs do not define who you are. Try not to worry or feel stressed — the most important thing is that you try your very best, believe in yourselves and show what you can do.

This weekend, make sure you get plenty of rest, have a good nights sleep and come in with a positive attitude. We know you are all going to be brilliant!

Good luck Year 6 — we are all cheering you on every step of the way! ⭐
