An amazing week of learning at Seaton Academy πŸ’œ
Nursery and Reception had a lovely autumn walk around Seaton, enjoying the beautiful colours and crisp autumn air! They collected lots of natural treasures, including colourful leaves, conkers and other autumnal finds. It was a great opportunity to explore the outdoors, enjoy nature and learn about the changes that happen during autumnβœ¨πŸ‚πŸ

Year 1: In Art lesson the children have experimented with different mediums: oil pastel, chalk, colouring pencils and different coloured paper. They used the primary and secondary colours on different designs and I was really impressed with their creativity, well done!

Year 2: Forest SchoolπŸŒ²πŸ‚πŸ Year 2 have started to learn about the points on a compass. They were taught the rhyme 'Never, Eat, Shredded, Wheat.' We then headed down to the Gazebo where they looked at a range of autumnal items such as conkers, pine cones and acorns!

Later in our session they had the choice of playing in the mud kitchen, building dens, bug hunting and some of us helped to build a willow fence along the side of the path!

Lots of lovely outdoor funπŸ‚well done Year 2πŸ’œ

🦠 Year 2 Science Afternoon! 🧼✨

This afternoon, Year 2 worked together to learn all about germs, how they spread and how we can prevent them.

We used Vaseline and glitter to represent the germs and then carried out our usual classroom activities to see just how easily they could spread between people and surfaces!

We discussed the importance of washing our hands properly, covering our mouths when we cough or sneeze and keeping our hands away from our faces to help stop germs spreading.

The children were fantastic scientists, making observations and thinking carefully about how we can keep ourselves and others healthy! πŸ§ͺπŸ”πŸ«§

Today our School Council and Green Team met with Emma Lofthouse from McMenon Engineering and Mr Barton to think about their ideas for this years Bright Stars program (Centre for Leadership Performance), whereby the children create their own business and sell items.

Some ideas ranged from making rainbow’s, selling teddy bears to …… selling houses and even our school!

They will meet again next week to decide on the final idea! πŸ’œπŸŒŸ

This week in Forest School, Year 2 children learned about habitats and where things live. They discussed burrows and searched for holes where you might find animals such as badgers, mice, squirrels and moles. We left school and walked down the line amd spotted a huge sycamore tree. The children compared leaves, tried to spot the trees they come from and their shape and size. Lovely workπŸŒ³πŸπŸƒπŸ‚

Year 2 also engaged in a Rosa Parks workshop. They listened to the story about Rosa Parks and then did some acting to help us remember some of the key parts about her story!

We had lots of fun and now know lots of fun and important facts about Rosa Parks.

Well done Year 2βοΈπŸ’œβοΈπŸ’œ
