Turnaround at The Link

Monday is our last TurnAround before the Easter break.

We will be making cornflake cakes, having an egg hunt and decorating eggs.

Hopefully the sun will stay with us so we can spend some time in our lovely garden.

Tomorrow we will be starting our day with some mindfulness activities that get us thinking about how we can use our surroundings to ground and calm us.

It wouldn’t be Monday if we didn’t make something yummy-tomorrow it’s toasties!

To finish off our afternoon we will be working on our affirmation boards that we started last week as well as our usual free choice activities.

Tomorrow we welcome some students who will be completing their placement with us from University of Worcester.

We are making pasta bake tomorrow.

1)Firstly the young people will need to decide what ingredients they would like to use.

2)The ingredients will need chopping and prepping before we cook it.

3)We will then assemble our pasta bakes ready for the oven.

We will be making Mother’s Day cards for our special adults too.

Today we are making fairy cakes. The young people can choose what flavour cakes they are going to make, measure the ingredients and decide how they are going to decorate them.

Now that the weather is starting to feel a little dryer we will spend some time outside chalking and on the park area. The rabbits always enjoy a hold too.

Games and quizzes to end the day as a group activity to bring the young people together will encourage peer to peer interactions.

We are making sweet bread today. The young people will have different choices of ingredients to add such as chocolate chips, blueberries and nuts. Measuring, independent working and choice will help the young people to feel a sense of pride in their yummy finished product.

Art helps us to express our thoughts and feelings in ways we may not be able to vocalise and today we are focusing on “what does my favourite day look like?” By drawing pictures.

Games and quizzes to end our day together will give the young people opportunity to socialise with their peers, take turns and practice social skills as well as cognitive strengths through the games we play.
