Debutots Worcestershire Debutots is a unique blend of interactive storytelling and dramatic play for 6 months to 7 years. Why Story, Drama and Play?

Story builds the foundations for literacy and promotes skilful communication

In exploring our stories vocally and physically we facilitate children's literacy development. They speak, listen, imagine, observe and do. Drama techniques foster cognitive development

By encouraging children to jump into a fictional world where they recall a story and discover and speak for themselves, their thinking, reasoning and memory skills blossom and grow. Play grows a child's positive sense of themselves and of others

Imaginative role-play puts children in another's shoes and allows playful exploration of feelings, consequences of behaviour and relationships with others. In our safe, imaginary world children build an understanding of themselves and a sense of community as a group. Debutots has been carefully developed to link to National Curricula

Our curriculum of classes bridges all aspects of early learning. Creative Planning Packs©, provided termly, are an indispensable planning and observation resource for nurseries, schools and childminders. A wonderful opportunity to celebrate even more than usual our very special intergenerational project, Joining Generations With Imagination.
Next week we will be connecting over 100 pre school children with the residents of 9 care homes across Worcestershire.

Every one of these story and play sessions make such a difference and have a hugely positive impact on everyone involved.

It’s fantastic to see that Worcestershire County Council are celebrating the power of ‘connecting generations’ too through Positive Ageing Week.

We’re celebrating the experience and contribution of older people across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

For the next 7 days, it's Positive Ageing Week, and inspired by this year's theme, Connecting Generations, we'll be sharing stories from across the generations and what we can learn from them to stay active and well.

Positive ageing is about challenging stereotypes and recognising that getting older brings experience, opportunities, connection and the chance to continue making a difference in our communities.

We’re also encouraging local organisations to get involved by sharing their own stories and celebrating the older people who make a difference in their communities.

Let’s celebrate every generation and the connections that make our communities stronger!
