Yesterday, Year 6 enjoyed an unforgettable World War One Workshop with Time Travel Education.🔍🇬🇧

Guided by Sergeant Parsons, pupils took part in army drills, explored how people were recruited to the war effort and examined World War One artefacts like real historians. They also stepped into the trenches through Virtual Reality, experiencing what life was like for a British soldier on the front line.

An immersive day that brought the past to life and gave pupils a fascinating insight into life during the First World War.

King’s Prep Swimming Academy.🏊‍♂️

Joint early-morning swimming sessions have begun for Year 5 and 6 pupils from King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s, led by Mr Jenkinson, Head of Swimming.

The Academy, which is by invitation, gives pupils the opportunity to train together in the on-site 25m pool, developing their strength, speed, stamina and race skills.

Starting at 7.30am before the school day, sessions include race skills, dives, relay changeovers and mixed relay training, while preparing for upcoming ESSA and IAPS competitions.

It’s also a great opportunity to make new friends across the two Prep schools and begin preparing them for the Senior Swimming Academy.

A fantastic opportunity for our young swimmers to train, compete and progress together!

Today, we celebrated the European Day of Languages with a fantastic European Bake Off! 🍰🌍

It was wonderful to see so many pupils and staff getting involved and dressing up to represent countries from across Europe.

The morning saw pupils head into their Houses for the much-anticipated Bake Off, presenting their delicious homemade creations to our judges. After some tough decisions, one finalist from each House made it through to the final, judged by Mr Butt and, joining us from the Senior School, Dr Coetzee!

The bakes were then sold at break time as part of a charity bake sale. 🎂

A brilliant day of fun, learning and celebrating the languages and cultures of Europe!

Our King’s Hawford and King’s St Alban’s boys joined forces for a fantastic U11 Rugby Festival at Millfield, with both our A and B teams enjoying a series of competitive fixtures against rugby schools such as Millfield, Kingswood and Blundell’s.

It was a brilliant opportunity for boys to test themselves in competitive matches, while also spending time together and building connections.

Well done to all the boys for some excellent rugby and a great day of sport! 👏🏉

Hockey fixtures are back at King’s Hawford!🏑

It has been fantastic to see our girls back on the pitch for their first fixtures of the season, taking on a range of different schools across the age groups.

There was plenty of enthusiasm, teamwork and determination on show, with the girls putting their skills into practice and supporting one another throughout their matches.

Well done to everyone who represented King’s Hawford- a brilliant start to the hockey season!👏
