🩺 Inside a Career in Medicine

Former RGS pupil Dr Gurjivan Sohal returned to School for our latest Careers Seminar, sharing his journey from RGS to Keele University Medical School and now working as a newly qualified doctor in Birmingham.

From life at Medical School and the UCAT to clinical placements and the realities of working as a doctor, pupils gained first-hand insight into the pathway towards a career in Medicine.

A huge thank you to Dr Sohal for returning to RGS and sharing his experiences and advice with the next generation of RGS pupils.👏

🎭 A Curious Evening at the Theatre

55 Drama students from Years Ten to Upper Sixth headed to Birmingham Rep to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

The production’s inventive staging, humour and sensory-friendly approach gave students a fascinating look at how performance and design can bring a character’s perspective to life.

From clever creative choices to moments of slapstick comedy, there was plenty for our Drama students to enjoy and discuss beyond the classroom!

🧶💚 Creative Connections at Crochet Club! 💚🧶

Our Crochet Club has been a wonderful opportunity for pupils to get creative, learn new skills and enjoy some relaxing time together.

From mastering new stitches to creating their own projects, pupils are developing patience, creativity and confidence while sharing their love of crochet with others.

A lovely example of the many ways our pupils can explore their interests beyond the classroom!

🏏 Former Worcestershire Captain Joe Leach joins RGS Worcester

We are delighted to announce the appointment of former Worcestershire County Cricket Club captain Joe Leach as our new Head of Cricket.

Joe brings extensive professional playing, leadership and coaching experience following a distinguished career with Worcestershire, where he captained the County for five years.

As Head of Cricket, Joe will lead both boys’ and girls’ cricket across RGS Worcester, building on our strong existing programme and supporting pupils at every level – from those who simply love playing the game to ambitious young cricketers progressing along county pathways and beyond.

Joe said: “The ambition for cricket at RGS Worcester was a major attraction for me. I want to build on the strong programme already in place, helping boys and girls enjoy their cricket and giving ambitious players the coaching, opportunities and challenge they need to develop.

Cricket has given me an enormous amount beyond playing the game, from teamwork and taking responsibility to dealing with success and disappointment. If pupils enjoy their cricket, improve as players and take those lessons with them, we will be doing a good job.”

Joe will join RGS Worcester from 2 November and we look forward to welcoming him to the RGS community.

💚 Welcome to Your House! 💚

This week, our Year Seven pupils took part in House Launch, discovering which House they will be part of throughout their time at RGS Worcester.

House life is a huge part of the RGS experience, giving pupils the opportunity to build friendships, develop a strong sense of community and connect with pupils across all year groups.

We can’t wait to see our newest pupils get involved, embrace the House spirit and make plenty of memories along the way!

🎸☀️ From RGS to the Sunshine Festival stage!

Over the summer, RGS Worcester pupils past and present took to the Arts Stage at the Sunshine Festival for an unforgettable weekend of live music.

Ozzy, Ollie, Will and Kieran, alongside Sihan, performed as their band Revolution 9, treating the crowd to an energetic set of well-known covers and finishing with an encore of Angels.

We were also delighted to see Daisy and Katie take to the stage, each performing their own impressive 30-minute sets. Daisy even kept the show going through some absolutely torrential rain!

A fantastic achievement for all our young musicians and a brilliant example of the talent and creativity within the RGS community.

Congratulations to Ozzy, Ollie, Will, Kieran, Sihan, Daisy and Katie!
