North Worcester Primary Academy

North Worcester Primary Academy North Worcester Primary Academy is a growing school in Worcester providing modern teaching ideas. We also run a successful Pre-school on site.

The Rivers CofE Academy Trust opened this new 3-11 community primary school in the North Worcester catchment area in September 2019. This new school will help meet the growing demand for primary places in the area and offer a high-quality education for children of all faiths and none. The proposed school will be state funded by the Department of Education. It will be operated by the Rivers CofE Academy Trust which already delivers high quality education through its other schools in Worcestershire (including Northwick Manor Primary, St Clement’s CofE Primary, St Peter’s CofE First, Cranham Primary, Cutnall Green CofE First, Great Witley Primary, and Heronswood Primary). The school will continue to grow, reaching its full potential of 420 pupils of primary age over seven years. Year 2 had a fantastic time becoming scientists last week! We carried out an experiment to investigate how hand soap helps remove bacteria and keeps us healthy. The children made predictions, observed the results, and learned why washing our hands is so important. Well done, Year 2!

This week in Year 4, we have been developing our drawing skills by exploring perspective. In RE, we have been learning about Hindu deities, with a focus on Ganesha. In maths, we have started our new unit on addition and subtraction. We have also finished our class text, The Queen’s Nose, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. Next week, we will begin The Girl Who Stole an Elephant.

Our final sunset in France last night gave us chance to reflect, and we have loved to see the enthusiasm, kindness, resilience, bravery and independence of the children flourish this week. It has been a privilege to take them on this adventure and we hope you have enjoyed sharing it with us.
Au revoir!

What a fantastic evening painting pots and planting hyacinth bulbs. Our NWPA Meet, Make and Create group had a lovely couple of hours chatting, painting, snacking and chilling! And we ended up with beautiful pots which will bloom in time for Christmas (always assuming we can keep them alive 😂)

What have Fantastic Year 4 been up to this week? We've been learning about unitising with doubling in Mastering Number, we've been investigating how enamel works on teeth and as writers we have been drafting, editing and publishing an advert about internet safety. What a great week! We are all really proud of our work!

In Reception, we’ve been supporting our gross and fine motor development through lots of fun, hands-on activities! 🌟

We have been using tracing maps to follow different patterns and designs in creative ways; using our fingers, feathers and scarves.

These activities help to strengthen our arms, hands and fingers, develop our coordination and control, and get us ready to become writers! ✍️📚
