This week Fledglings have been looking at Autumn.
We started with recognising some autumn colours such as red, orange, and yellow.
We have been on a trip to Pitmaston field to collect pinecones, leaves and conkers.
We also practiced some scooping and pouring of some of our autumn resources.

This week, we’ve looked at the world around us changing.

Wise owls went on a walk to penhill crescent to look at the natural environment. We saw a wooden fox and a tree swing! We also found lots of different types of leaves that we brought back to nursery!

We have made apple crumble, cereal autumn trees, rain catchers. We even made our own tomato soup! Wise owls have explored a sensory tray.

The children had explored different leaves from the garden and patterns that are made using conkers and paint.

Wise owls have also had jungle jiggle where we had to work on our movement using pom poms.

We are also ready for autumn with our home corner as a pumpkin patch!

This week in Little Owls we have started learning all about autumn!
We have been very creative and decorated an Autumn tree, made some autumn wreaths and created some leaf sun catchers.
We have also colour matched some leaves and and practiced our counting skills using conkers.

Family - two fingers together and crossed over and move in a circular motion.
Mummy - one hand flat palm facing down and working hand middle three fingers and tap twice on flat hand.
Daddy - two first fingers and one on top of each other and tap twice.
Brother - hands made into fists, thumbs tucked in and rub up and down.
Sister - index finger in a hook and tap twice on bridge of nose.

Wise Owls have looked at our emotions this week. 😊 😢 🤩 😠

We explored different emotions using the colour monster book.
We made some emotion potions and encouraged the children to share experiences where they felt the different emotions!

Wise owls made some biscuits then added faces to them using icing.

The children worked on their turn taking and fine motor skills using tweezers and beads to make bracelets!

This week in Little Owls we have explored the five senses. ✋🏻 👂 👀
We had a citrus water tray where we painted with flavoured yogurt.
We have also got creative with some musical instruments and played along to our favourite songs and rhymes. 🥁
Little Owls also used their taste sense and to try a range of sour and sweet foods.
Using our sight sense they looked at colourful lights on the ceiling. 💡
