I hope the first week back to school has gone well for everyone. We made the most of the sunshine and had a phonics session outside this weekend - so much you can do with a few pieces of chalk!

Super simple game to practise sound recognition and spelling: draw around your hands and feet on a large sheet of paper to create a dance mat and stick on sounds written on post its. Call out different sounds for your child to stamp on or tap. You can also get them to spell short words too. Set to music and it becomes so much more than just a phonics lesson!

I'm a qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching phonics and writing. I'm offering 1:1 tutoring to children currently in EYFS and Key Stage 1.

Learning the phonics sounds and blending them together to read words

Developing their reading fluency and comprehension

Learning how to write words and sentences correctly

Improving their spelling and grammar

I use a variety of fun and engaging activities to make learning phonics and writing enjoyable. I also tailor my lessons to each individual child's needs.

I am a qualified primary teacher with 10 years of experience in a variety of settings. My specialist areas are phonics and writing, and I have a proven track record of helping children learn and succeed.

I believe that an outdoor, play-based approach is one of the most effective ways to engage children with their learning. I am passionate about taking my lessons outside whenever possible, as I believe that children learn best when they are active and engaged.

I am also committed to developing positive mental health in children. I believe that spending time in nature is a fantastic way to do this, and I incorporate nature-based activities into my lessons whenever possible.
