Year 6 Prom! πŸŽ‰βœ¨

What a fantastic evening we had at our Year 6 Prom! Dressed in our finest outfits, singing our hearts out at karaoke and enjoying precious time together, it was a truly memorable night.

There was lots of laughter, dancing and celebration as we reflected on all the wonderful memories we've made together. A perfect way to mark the end of an amazing primary school journey.

A cracking night that we'll never forget! πŸŒŸπŸŽ€πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ίβ€οΈ

Once again, we were delighted to take part in Junior Youth Speak, organised by Worcester Rotary.

Our children demonstrated incredible resilience, bravery and determination as they confidently performed in front of a packed hall. Each class also entertained the audience with a song or poem, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.

We are immensely proud of everyone who took part and represented our school so brilliantly. Well done to all involved! πŸ‘βπŸŽ€

✨ What a show! ✨

Our Cool Earth Week Fashion Show was a huge success! Each class received a design brief inspired by a member of staff and created a fantastic outfit using only recycled materials.

The children worked incredibly hard to design and make their creations, ensuring each outfit reflected the personality of the staff member modelling it. They also included animal-inspired features as a tribute to Sir David Attenborough.

We are so proud of the creativity, effort and environmental awareness shown by everyone involved! πŸŒβ™»οΈ

What a story! What a privilege to have Rosie as part of our Carnforth community! πŸ’™

A story that helped one little girl understand who she is πŸ“š

When Rosie became the full-time carer for her granddaughter at just nine months old, she wanted to help her stay connected to the people and experiences that shaped her early life.

So she made a book.

Filled with photos of all of her family members and her foster carers, the handmade book became something her granddaughter returned to again and again as she grew up.

Rosie said the book helped her granddaughter understand her family relationships, her past and where she belonged.

πŸ’¬ β€œBack in those days there weren’t books about Kinship, so I made my own. I put everyone in, even her mum and dad who she didn’t see anymore. They’re part of her. You can’t hide from it -you have to embrace it. I always said to her that I can’t change your past, but I can make your future better.”

Rosie also contacted The Hive to ask whether there were any library books available about Kinship Care. Following her request, new titles were added to the collection. Today, there is a wide range of books covering fostering, Kinship Care, adoption and different family structures available for families to access.

As part of the National Year of Reading, Rosie's story highlights the powerful role reading can play in helping children understand their identity, build relationships and feel connected to their family history.

Thank you to Rosie for sharing this with us! πŸ’š

πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ Reception's Trip to Weston-super-Mare! β˜€οΈπŸŒŠ
Reception had a fantastic day at the beach in Weston-super-Mare! The children loved playing in the sand, dipping their toes in the sea, and munching on delicious chips and ice cream. πŸ¦πŸŸπŸ–οΈ
There were lots of smiles, laughter and wonderful memories made throughout the day. It was a brilliant opportunity for the children to explore, play and enjoy time together by the seaside.
A super day was had by all! πŸ˜ŠπŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

This week in Reception we are looking at rock pools and guess what... Carnforth have their very own rockpool. We have been discovering and finding different sea creatures, plants and rocks using fish nets and buckets. πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ
