The final minutes of a conditioning session. ā³
Thatās when the fatigue sets in.
Your muscles start to ache.
And your body starts telling you itās time to quit.
Thatās when the mind has to take over. š§
Keep pushing.
Keep working.
Finish what you started. š
Because if it was easy to achieve, it probably wouldnāt be worth achieving. š¦¾

You might be asking yourself why, as a coach of my own gym, Iām training at a different gym under a different coach.
The answer is simple.
I donāt know everything.
Iād like to think I have an above average understanding of martial artsā¦
But there will always be more to learn.
Every coach has different experiences.
Different knowledge.
Different ways of explaining techniques.
If I stop learning, I stop improving.
And if I stop improving, so do the people I coach.
I believe itās my responsibility to keep developing my own skills and knowledge so I can pass the best information possible on to my students.
More importantly, I think this applies to anything in life.
If youāre passionate about somethingā¦
Never stop being a student.
Learn from people with different experiences.
Take the best parts from everyone you meet.
Then keep building your own understanding.
Thatās exactly why I still train.
To keep developing my skills.
To lead by example.
And to make sure the people who trust me to coach them are getting the very best version of me.
If this is the type of coaching youāre looking for, where learning never stopsā¦

You donāt grow by avoiding challenges.
You grow by facing them.
Every difficult session.
Every mistake.
Every lesson.
It all adds up.
Keep turning up.
Keep putting the work in.
Keep chasing who youāre capable of becoming. š

Fight Review š„
A day at the racesā¦
A couple of drinksā¦
And somebody decides itās a good idea to throw hands.
Unfortunately for him, he chose the head down, windmill approach.
As youād expect, it didnāt end well.
One of the biggest mistakes people make in street fights is swinging wildly and charging forwards.
You lose your balance.
You lose your vision.
And you leave yourself wide open.
If youāre going to fight, thereās a right way and a wrong way.
Better yet⦠avoid it altogether.
One final thoughtā¦
Getting knocked out in public is bad enoughā¦
But getting blood all over a beige suit?
That would upset me even more. š
These reviews arenāt about encouraging violence. Theyāre about breaking down real situations so we can all learn from them. š
Before anyone says anythingā¦
Yes, the subtitles say spa instead of spar.
Thatās on my editor, not me. š
Now thatās out of the wayā¦
Sparring isnāt about landing the hardest shots.
It isnāt about proving youāre the toughest person in the room.
Itās your chance to put everything youāve been working on into practice.
Try that new combination.
Work on your footwork.
Improve your timing.
Test your reactions.
Every round should have a purpose.
The goal isnāt to beat your training partner.
The goal is for both of you to leave the round better than when you started. š
Save the āwinningā mentality for competition.
If this is the type of coaching youāre looking for, where every session has a purposeā¦

Donāt settle for what youāre capable of today.
Keep chasing what youāre capable of becoming.
Every session is another step towards being strongerā¦
More confidentā¦
More disciplinedā¦
Not just in the gym, but in everyday life.
Thatās what weāre building at CR Combat. š

This is probably the most personal reel Iāve ever made.
Martial arts didnāt just teach me how to fight.
It taught me how to be a man.
And I donāt mean the Andrew Tate definition.
I mean being kind.
Being gentle.
Being respectful.
Being disciplined.
Staying focused when things get difficult.
Martial arts gave me purpose when I needed it most, and it completely changed the direction my life was heading.
Those lessons have stayed with me ever since, and theyāre far more valuable than any punch or kick Iāve ever learned.
Thatās why I coach.
Not just to help people become better martial artists, but to help them build confidence, discipline and character that theyāll carry with them for the rest of their lives. š
Fight Review š„
This is one of the most well-known fight clips on the internet.
The moment that changes everything is the little lunge towards Joe Schilling.
Up until then, itās just an argument.
As soon as someone steps into your space aggressively, youāve changed the situation completely.
Unfortunately for him, he picked the wrong person.
One punch later, heās unconscious.
Whether you agree with Joeās reaction or not, thereās a lesson hereā¦
Donāt act like the toughest person in the room unless youāre prepared for the consequences.
Better yet, donāt act like it at all.
Walking away from an argument doesnāt make you weak.
It usually means youāre the smarter person.
These fight reviews arenāt about glorifying violence. Theyāre about learning from real situations and understanding how quickly poor decisions can escalate. š
Excuses ranked⦠šš
Some of these might be controversialā¦
Before anyone gets offended, this is obviously just a bit of fun. š
Life happens and sometimes you genuinely canāt make training.
But a lot of the time, what we call an excuse is just a problem we havenāt tried to solve.
Car broke down? Get a lift.
Need to revise? Train first or afterwards.
Watching the kids? Bring them along if you can, swap with your partner or make another plan.
Then there are the excuses that deserve a passā¦
Sending me a message from a hospital bed after breaking your collarboneā¦
Or spending your entire day stuck in traffic, only to get caught in more traffic on the way to training. š
Those two definitely earn an A tier.
Whatās the best excuse youāve ever heard? š
Working on setting traps. š„
Switch body kick.
Cross.
Hook.
Cross.
Get them reacting to the switch.
Then resetā¦
Switch jab.
Front leg round kick. š¦µ
The goal isnāt just to throw combinations.
Itās to make your opponent expect one thing
and then give them something else. š
Make them drop their hands expecting the kickā¦
then land the jab instead.
Small details make a big difference. š
