ALERT FOR DOG WALKERS IN DIGLIS - please share
UPDATE 21.06.26 The cob continues well, apart from his over conscientious attacking of his reflection - he has found another rival swan in a boat, and will no doubt be back at the windows later on. Lots of people out with dogs this morning, most on leads. Thank you! This poor swan is in a state of perpetual anxiety (NB this started BEFORE the dog attack, and is why he was out of the water by his reflection in window panes when attacked).
On Wednesday, a dog seized this swan by the neck, pulling him to the ground & dragging him along as the owner tried to pull him off. The father of two escaped into the water and seems uninjured. He is being monitored, as parents can't be removed from their cygnets without very good reason. Please be good pals and keep your dog under close control around the inner and outer basins of Diglis marina.
