This morning the children enjoyed a special visit from Santa as he came and enjoyed breakfast with them. Last week we welcomed Jenny from Little Shakers into our nursery for a Halloween Workshop which consisted of games, dancing and a musical Halloween pumpkin patch ๐ The children had a fantastic morning getting active and showing off their dance moves.
After lots of dancing and great listening the children finished off their session with colouring and making their own Halloween characters ๐ป ๐งโโ๏ธ

The children in pre-school enjoyed making sun catchers using autumn leaves. The children were able to recognise the changes that come with autumn. They identified that the leaves go from green to orange, yellow, red and brown, as they fall from the trees.
The children used their fine motor skills to tear the large leaves so they were a better fit. Whilst tearing up the leaves the children used their knowledge of colour to identify all of the colours on the leaves. The children then stuck their autumn leaves onto their paper plate borders. As the children were selecting and sticking their leaves we talked to them about the different textures they could feel, whether they were smooth, rough, crunchy or bumpy.

๐ ๐ Letโs Race ๐ ๐
The children have been exploring their senses and fine motor skills. They used small cars to drive around the track and through the pumpkin tunnels. The children also used their senses to smell the pumpkin, feel the pumpkin and listen to the sound of the rice as it fell through their fingers onto the tray. They really enjoyed scooping up the rice and using it to fill the pumpkins.

They enjoyed exploring the colours and mixing them.

This morning the children enjoyed exploring our tuff tray. We spoke about the life cycle of a tree and how vital it is for a healthy environment, providing oxygen, and returning nutrients to the soil to support future growth. We spoke about how itโs important to care for plants and living things. Then we moved onto adding some colour to our leaves using one handed tools (pipettes) the children did really well to control the pipette in squeezing up the paints and holding it to find a cotton wool pad and then letting it go. The children were really creative and had a go at using all the colours e.g red, yellow, orange and brown we spoke about how we can mix yellow and red together to make orange.
