It was an absolute privilege to welcome Mathieu back to Dorchester Primary School to share his powerful and inspiring story with our children.
Mathieu spoke with incredible honesty and courage, showing what true bravery looks like. His resilience and determination left a lasting impression on everyone in the room, reminding us all of the importance of kindness, hope and never giving up.
We are so proud to see that Mathieu has been shortlisted for a BBC Make a Difference Award – a truly well-deserved recognition for the positive impact he continues to have on so many lives.
Thank you, Mathieu, for taking the time to visit us once again. Your story inspires us all, and we wish you the very best of luck!

Please find attached a poster giving you a preview of the exciting clubs that will be available at school during the new academic year.
Full details of each club, including the days, times and booking information, will be sent out in early September. At that point, you will be able to register your child's interest and book places where required.
We hope there is something for everyone, and we look forward to seeing lots of children taking part in our clubs next year.

Two teams from Year 5 proudly represented our school at the Primary Maths Challenge held at Raynes Park High School.
We are incredibly proud of both teams for their fantastic effort and teamwork.
Competing against a total of 10 teams, both groups performed exceptionally well. Team 6 secured an impressive 2nd place, missing out on 1st place by just 2 points, while Team 7 achieved a fantastic 4th place, narrowly missing 3rd place.
The challenge featured a series of demanding mathematical problems, and all of our pupils demonstrated excellent resilience, determination and collaboration throughout the competition. They supported one another, persevered with the challenging questions and represented our school with pride.
Congratulations to both teams on their outstanding achievements!

An Outstanding Achievement at the National Mathematics Finals!
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the incredible success of our Year 6 mathematicians, who earned two places in the National Mathematics Finals held at Oxford University.
This is a phenomenal achievement. Not only did we have two teams competing—more than many of the other schools, including several independent schools—but both teams performed exceptionally well. Out of 33 teams from across the country, Dorchester achieved an outstanding 9th and 10th place. Remarkably, just one or two more correct answers would have moved us into 2nd and 3rd place.
What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is that, of the top ten schools, only one other state school was represented. The remaining schools were all independent schools, making our pupils’ success even more remarkable.
The competition questions were extremely challenging, but our children demonstrated outstanding resilience, determination and teamwork throughout the day. They approached every problem with enthusiasm and supported one another brilliantly.
We hope all of the children enjoyed this unforgettable experience and are as proud of their achievements as we are of them. They have been exceptional ambassadors for our school, and we are incredibly proud of every single one of them. Congratulations to all eight pupils on this truly outstanding accomplishment!

🎶🌟 Year 3 Shine at Sutton Music Concert! Sutton Music Trust 🌟🎶
We are incredibly proud of our talented Year 3 pupils who tonight, joined children from other local schools for a wonderful music concert organised by Sutton Music.
Our young musicians confidently played their ukuleles as part of a large ensemble, performing two fantastic songs, before joining lots of voices in a mass choir performance.
The children represented our school brilliantly, demonstrating not only their growing musical talents but also exemplary behaviour throughout the event. Their enthusiasm, confidence and teamwork made the occasion a real success.
Well done, Year 3! You should all be very proud of yourselves – we certainly are! 👏⭐
