End of the Month Check-In?
Be honest with yourself.
How is your training actually going?
Not what you intended to do.
Not what’s written on paper.
How does your body feel on climbs right now?
Are you progressing, or simply accumulating fatigue?
Many cyclists over 40 fall into the same pattern:
Ride more.
Hope it clicks.
Wait for the breakthrough.
But if nothing in your structure changes, neither does the outcome.
After 40, progress doesn’t come from volume alone.
It comes from:
– Strength that supports force production
– Smarter sequencing
– Recovery that allows adaptation
If you’re still plateauing, it isn’t because you lack discipline.
It’s usually because your training hasn’t evolved.
You don’t need the “perfect time” to fix it.
You need clarity.
If you’re serious about building strength, climbing with confidence, and refusing quiet decline, I share deeper guidance inside my Facebook group — specifically for performance-driven cyclists over 40.
No BS💩
No generic plans.
Just structured insight and practical direction.

What are you actually training for?
Not this weekend.
Not your next club ride.
I'm talking about the thing you'd REALLY like to achieve on the bike.
Maybe it's your first 100-miler.
Maybe it's the Étape, Maratona, Mallorca 312 or another monster sportive.
Maybe it's gravel racing.
Maybe you want to race again.
Or maybe you're fed up with being the rider hanging on when the pace goes up and you want to feel properly strong again.
Whatever it is, here's the question:
Do you have a training plan that's actually taking you there?
Because hoping that a mixture of club rides, Zwift and the occasional gym session will eventually produce the result you want isn't much of a strategy.
This is where coaching changes things.
We work backwards from your goal.
We identify what needs improving.
Then we build your strength work, bike training and recovery around the time you genuinely have available.
No cookie-cutter programme.
No pointless sessions.
No training for the sake of training.
A plan with a purpose.
I've got room for TWO new coaching clients during August, before my prices increase in September.
If you've got a goal for the rest of 2026 or something big planned for 2027, I'd love to hear what it is.
👇 Comment with your goal below.
Or DM me 2027 if you'd rather chat privately about how we'd get you there.

Why Sam Finally Broke Through His Plateau
Sam had reached a ceiling.
He was training consistently. Getting decent results.
But always coming up just short of his primary targets.
As a rider over 40, the hardest part wasn’t the effort.
It was the doubt.
“Is this just where I am now?”
He’d tried the usual route:
📄 Generic training plans
📱 Apps promising science-based breakthroughs
🏋️♂️ Gym routines copied from YouTube
Each time, he started strong.
And each time, progress stalled.
The problem wasn’t effort.
It was structure.
Sam didn’t need more intervals.
He didn’t need more volume.
He needed strength integrated properly into his training — phased, sequenced, and built around his physiology.
So we built it properly.
Stability before endurance.
Strength before peak power.
Lower frequency. Higher quality.
Within three months, his recovery improved.
His numbers began climbing again.
His punch returned.
He stopped questioning whether improvement was still possible.
After decades of riding, he realised something important:
It’s never too late to build strength that supports ambition.
Most riders over 40 don’t need another cycling plan.
They need structural strength that allows them to adapt again.
Train strong. Ride confidently. Refuse decline.

If you're over 40 and your cycling has plateaued, riding MORE isn't always the answer.
This is something I see all the time.
More miles.
Another Zwift session.
Another hard club ride.
Another week of squeezing in whatever training you can.
But there's no real structure connecting any of it.
And eventually you start wondering why you're working so hard without actually getting much better.
For cyclists over 40, training needs to be smarter.
You need to know:
💪 When to build strength
🚴 When to push the bike
📈 When to progress the workload
😴 And when backing off will actually make you better
That's exactly what I do with my coaching clients.
We build a programme around your cycling goals and the life you actually have, rather than pretending you've suddenly got 15 hours a week to train.
I've currently got room for TWO new clients this August.
And because my coaching prices increase in September, this is the last opportunity to get started at my current rate.
If you've got a goal but you're not completely sure how to train for it, let's talk.
Comment PLAN below or DM me PLAN and I'll tell you more.

I've got room for TWO new coaching clients this August. 🚴♂️💪
And there's a good reason I'm telling you now...
My coaching prices are going up in September.
So if you've been following me for a while and thinking:
"I really need to get my training sorted..."
This is a very good time to do something about it.
There's still plenty of riding left in 2026.
But we're also approaching the perfect time to start laying the foundations for whatever you want to achieve in 2027.
A big sportive.
A gravel race.
Faster club rides.
More power on the climbs.
Or simply getting back to feeling like the strong cyclist you know you can be.
My coaching isn't a generic training plan dropped into your calendar.
It's built around you.
Your goals.
Your available time.
Your cycling.
Your strengths and weaknesses.
Your work.
Your family.
Then we bring together strength training, structured bike work and recovery so everything has a purpose.
I'm looking for TWO committed cyclists who have a goal and are ready to train properly towards it.
Start with me during August and you'll come onboard before my September price increase.
Interested?

Two spaces. Who's ready? 🚴♂️

Why You Didn’t Smash a Ton of PBs This Year?
Let’s be honest... If 2026 didn’t deliver the results you wanted, here’s why 👇
1️⃣ You poured money into a lighter bike instead of investing in a stronger engine (💡 that’s YOU)
2️⃣ You started a plan... but bailed after a few weeks and slipped back into old habits
3️⃣ You avoided the gym, even though that’s where real strength and power are built
4️⃣ You thought endless miles on the bike were enough
5️⃣ You didn’t have a coach keeping you accountable and on track
📉 And so the year passed… with OK results. Nothing wrong with that!
But let’s be clear: you’re capable of WAY more.
💥 2027 can be different.
💥 You can break through any plateau.
💥 You can get stronger, ride faster, and finally feel like your training is actually working.
But only if you do something different.
And now is the time to start. Not next week. Not after “life settles down.”

Don't wait until winter.
Every August, I see the same thing happen.
Cyclists ease off the strength training.
The evenings are still light.
The miles are piling up.
The events are coming thick and fast.
"It can wait until November."
But here's the thing...
The riders who are still strong in September and October didn't stop looking after the foundations that got them there.
They kept showing up.
Not with hours in the gym.
Just with enough consistency to maintain their strength, stay injury-resistant and keep producing power when everyone else was beginning to fade.
The truth is, you'll never feel like the timing is perfect.
There will always be a reason to wait.
⏰ "Life's too busy."
🚴 "I'll do it after this event."
💸 "Maybe later in the year."
But if you keep waiting for the perfect moment, you'll still be saying the same thing when winter arrives.
The cyclists who make the biggest improvements next season are usually the ones who start making better decisions now.
If you're serious about becoming a stronger, more resilient cyclist over 40...
Don't wait until winter. Start today.
I have five 1-to-1 coaching spaces available this month for committed cyclists who want a personalised strength and cycling programme built around their goals, work and family life.
If you've been thinking about getting some expert guidance, send me a message. I'd be happy to answer your questions and see if we're the right fit.
Or, if you're not quite ready for coaching, come and join my private Facebook community for cyclists over 40, where I share free advice, training tips and resources every week.

Andy’s old training wasn’t cutting it.
Like a lot of committed cyclists, he believed the answer was simple:
Ride more.
Push harder.
Add another session.
But more riding wasn’t giving him more performance.
Despite the effort, progress had stalled. Power wasn’t improving. Recovery wasn’t where it should be. And frustration was creeping in.
That’s when we started working together.
Through my Bespoke Personal Training process, we identified the exact limitations holding him back — mobility restrictions, strength deficits, and fatigue management gaps that his cycling plan wasn’t addressing.
Within 30 days:
• Movement quality improved
• Recovery between sessions felt easier
• Power output started trending up
• Niggles reduced
Now he’s entering Phase 2.
This is where we build real durability, strength, endurance, and explosive power layered properly onto his riding.
No guesswork.
No random gym sessions.
No “ride more and hope.”
Just structured progression aligned with his goal.
🔥 This is what happens when you train like a serious cyclist — not a hopeful one.
