The Bulmershe School is a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community which strives for students to be happy, self-confident and aspirational learners and thinkers. We take enormous pride in our caring reputation and are committed to the continuous and relentless pursuit of opportunities to enable all our students to achieve levels of responsibility, mutual respect and resilience within the safe and

nurturing environment of our school community. Our school has been described by Ofsted as one where students make 'rapid progress' which is 'based on outstanding teaching combined with a high level of care for the individual child'. However we are never complacent and, as a school, are constantly looking for ways to improve so that we can serve our families and the community the very best education has to offer.

We could not be prouder of our Year 11 students, who received a fantastic set of GCSE results today! This cohort delivered our highest ever overall average score, placing Bulmershe in the top 25% of schools nationally for student progress for the second year running. Over 58% of all grades were Grade 5 or above, with Maths seeing over a third of students achieve top Grades 7-9.

These results are a testament to the dedication of our students, but also to the unwavering support of our families and staff. To our parents and carers: thank you for every pep talk, lift and word of encouragement over the last five years. To our brilliant staff: thank you for your commitment and belief in every student.

Thank you to our amazing families and staff for supporting this cohort every step of the way!

Record-breaking Sixth Form results for the Class of 2026! πŸŽ“πŸŽ‰

Our largest ever Year 13 cohort is celebrating an incredible set of A-Level and vocational results today! Out of 131 students, 11.6% achieved top A* grades (well above the national average of 9.7%), with six students securing three or more A*s.

Almost all university applicants secured their first-choice places, including destinations like Oxford, Cambridge, Medicine and Veterinary Science, alongside prestigious degree apprenticeships with British Airways, Thames Water and Thames Valley Police.

In the photo below, you can see Mr Hussain and Mr Grewal celebrating with their Further Maths students who all achieved an A* grade, putting their subject progress in the top 1-2% across the entire country!

Congratulations to all our brilliant students, supportive families and hardworking staff team!

A huge congratulations to our soon-to-be Head of Year 11, Mr Whearity, who completed his Thames Path endurance challenge!
After logging 35 hours of running across four days, he crossed the finish line at the Thames Barrier at 5:31pm on Saturday 1st August.

Through your wonderful generosity, he has raised an incredible Β£2,458 for the Oxford Hospitals Charity.

Having previously undergone major surgery following a serious accident, Mr Whearity took on this 174-mile journey to support the medical team at the John Radcliffe Hospital who helped rebuild his life. Aside from a sunburnt lip, he reports that he is feeling great and very grateful for everyone who donated.

The school year has officially ended! We wish everyone in our Bulmershe Community a lovely, restful summer.

An update from deepest Wales: Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh team is currently tackling their qualifying expedition in the Brecon Beacons. Mobile signal in the mountains has been almost non-existent, but we are thrilled to share that everyone is doing fantastically well!

Students have been enjoying spectacular views across the Brecon Beacons in a very pleasant 24 degrees of sunshine, taking on some of the most remote and challenging terrain.

Achieving Gold is the absolute pinnacle of the DofE programme for young people aged 16 to 25. It requires up to 18 months of commitment across Volunteering, Physical, Skills, an Adventurous Journey and a Residential project. Completing this qualifying expedition brings them one step closer to receiving their award. πŸ‘

Don't forget - it's Culture Day tomorrow!

To celebrate the wonderful diversity of our school community, students are invited to wear clothes that represent their background or heritage.

This could be a traditional outfit, a sports kit, a uniform from cadets, scouts or guides, or simply clothing in the colours of a flag. There is no pressure to dress up, and coming to school in normal Bulmershe uniform or PE kit is completely fine. For those participating, we have a Β£1 donation option available on IRIS ParentMail to help support our community projects.

We took this photo at last year's event and we cannot wait to see everyone tomorrow!
