FOH School Disco Update

📧 As you should have seen in your inbox, we have made the difficult decision to move the FOH Disco to Tuesday 7th July - due to the England football match. Our volunteers spent a fair chunk of Sunday discussing what would be best for the children - whilst wrangling our own children after a tough week.

💭 Ultimately, the (vast!) options we came up with still meant the following:

• Year 6 could miss their last disco
• There would be a lot of late nights mid-week which would affect schooling on Thursday
• Many children would have to choose between the disco and the football
• Some volunteers would not have been able to attend (and we were low on numbers anyway)
• Supervision (for an option to watch the game at the disco) would have meant needing more volunteers
• Parents may have be rushing to collect the children, impacting safety etc
• Parents may have enjoyed a beverage during the game which meant driving was no longer an option

❗️ We know this change may be inconvenient and will impact some families. We are very sorry for that. That said, we’d like to reiterate that this is a volunteer lead event - run by working parents who are giving up a lot of time to make it happen safely and fairly.

📋 Unfortunately, we can't accept any additional bookings as the registers have already been sent to school. If you have any questions, please email the Chair email account (respectfully) and avoid asking volunteers on What’s App.

💚 If you were due to volunteer and can no longer make it (or if you're now able to help!) please update your availability on the PTA Events page.

🪩 We can't wait to see everyone on Tuesday 7th July for a brilliant disco! We will be working with the school on the risk assessment, very closely in the event of another heat wave. Our number one priority is always the safety of the children.

📧 Check your email once you’ve booked, it will say: tickets purchased, tokens purchased** and where to drop off and collect

🆘 Email or FB message us with any issues with booking

* This saves parents scrabbling to find change on the day (or is that just me?!), as well as the post-disco count-up and subsequent bank trip

** You can order tuck tokens separately to your booking e.g. if you forget
