The Woodlands is a place of excitement and magic, where children's imaginations come alive, we have three specially designed key areas catering for children 6 weeks - 5 years. We are heavily community orientated and love to have guests in such as the local fire crew and police force, bakeries and banks, and also like to venture out including our 'film night' at the local Kinema in the Woods. Our babies have been on their imaginative travels as they climb on board our aeroplane.. and fly to the beach! From packing our suitcases.. mark making our tickets.. to wearing our protective clothing, such as sunglasses, hats and more!

As we play and explore, our tiny people are constantly learning life skills, independence and building wonderful little imaginations!

🌸👗 This morning, we have had our very own baby room “catwalk” fashion show! 👗🌸

An opportunity to allow our little ones to express their creativity, curiosity and health/self care skills as we all “have a go” at helping to pop the clothing on, such as reaching up our arms.. and putting on our hats as we make our own choices!

Once all dressed up, we begin to take in turns to “walk” and “stomp” along the red carpet, then climb up onto the podium to look in the mirror and “pose!”. This allows us to notice our beautiful outfit choices, and our own reflections, alongside how we are all “different”.

How better to express our creativity and curiosity for the world.. than to “paint” within the “Great Outdoors” as we listen to the sounds of the birds.. and the views of the boats floating by!

From using paint brushes and watercolours.. to enhancing our play by using natural resources we have found along the way to mark make as we “tap”, “shake” and “brush” to investigate with colours!

From “scooping” our coloured “mashed potato” into the cones.. to adding toppings such as “sprinkles!” as we express curiosity in exploring new tastes and textures through play!

☀️🍦Our exploration encourages a variety of new language opportunities and concepts as we explore different “flavours” through colour grouping and selecting. We also begin to show kindness and care as we create “ice cream” for our peers, making our own choices, building independence alongside growing friendships! 🍦☀️
