We're incredibly proud to announce that Woodbridge School has been commended for its contribution to social mobility in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026 - recognising the impact of our Primary and Secondary Enrichment programmes on our local community.

Our Primary Enrichment Programme alone sees at least 20 primary schools participate each year, and cumulatively approximately 1,900 children attend each year. This means that by the end of our last academic year, over 15,000 children will have taken part in workshops as part of this programme since its introduction.

Alongside this, our Secondary Enrichment initiative, which was launched last year, continues to provide valuable opportunities for secondary school students to engage with specialist subjects, expert speakers and hands-on learning experiences, helping to spark ambition, nurture talent and encourage a lifelong love of learning.

Shona Norman, Head of School, shared, "We are delighted to have been recognised in the Social Mobility Award category. Our enrichment programmes are built on a belief that every young person should have access to opportunities that inspire curiosity, raise aspirations and support their personal development. This commendation is a wonderful reflection of the collaborative work of our staff, partner schools and the thousands of young people who have engaged with these programmes over the years; it also reflects the work of our own students and the benefits they receive through their volunteering to support workshops throughout the year, enriching their own and others’ experience in our School. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of our enrichment programmes, and congratulate all schools recognised in this year's awards.”

With full Primary and Secondary Enrichment programmes planned again for this upcoming academic year, we look forward to welcoming even more students from local schools into Woodbridge School. Visit our website for more information or click the link in our bio.

Making a difference, one hour at a time!

Between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026, Woodbridge School students completing various elements of their The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, completed an impressive 1,404 hours of volunteering, generating an estimated social value of £10,599 for our community.

This not only reflects the incredible and positive impact our students have made within the local community through their dedication, compassion and willingness to give back, but their determination to step outside their comfort zones, develop vital life skills, build resilience and give back to causes they care about. Through volunteering, which is a core part of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, our students learn the importance of service, leadership and community responsibility while making a meaningful difference to others. This was recognised in our March 2026 ISI inspection report, which shared that our students develop a sense of service and duty through the many opportunities to work with and within the community, and that this is a priority for the School.

As part of their awards, our students have supported others, strengthened community connections and demonstrated the values that make Woodbridge School such a special place. Well done to every student who has given their time, energy and commitment to this achievement.
