The children have had lots of fun with this topic of Transport 🚚🚘
We've made a tractor and digger with cardboard boxes which taught the children about recycling and sustainability. They enjoyed painting and creating these vehicles.
The children also had a go at mark making with cars and monster trucks with the paint which we found made a amazing pattern of the tires βš™
The children have loved looking at the tractors and especially the combine which we've seen on the feild as well 🌾
We look forward to the last week of transport and heading into our new topic.... DINOSAURS πŸ¦–πŸ¦• in September.

This month's topic is transport 🚘
This week the children have been busy making lots of vehicles and have created some buses and cars using different materials. They have enjoyed cutting and sticking all of the pieces, which is great for their pincher grip!
We created a multi-coloured train and the children enjoyed sorting out little coloured animals and putting them into the corresponding coloured carriages.
We created a few messy trays around the topic for the children to explore πŸ›«πŸšš
We look forward to learning about the topic more next week!

Today we went to see the combine! The children enjoyed looking at the tractor and watching the combine empty its wheat into the trailer. The combine driver even honked his horn and waved at us which delighted the children. 🚜The children then enhanced their learning in nursery by talking about what we make with the wheat.

Along with our healthy eating topic, the children have also been learning about cutting a different texture. We spoke about where the cabbage comes from and what it smells like! πŸ₯¬ We also explored painting with carrots, the children loved mark-making with a new tool. The children have also taken part in creating a fruit bowl for our display, they decorated different fruits and enjoyed creating a picture with the materials.

Weve also decorated pizzas with different healthy vegetables options, the children were able to take turns with their peers and take them home for their families!

The children had great fun this week looking after and caring for our 9 little chicks.πŸ₯

The children have learnt how to handle them gently, helped to clean their enclosure and engage in discussions about the life cycle of a chicken.

The chicks have now left the nursery but have all gone to a loving new home!

World bee day !!🐝🍯
The children have enjoyed celebrating world bee day and learning the life cycle of bees and where honey comes from. The children who are over 1 years old tried some honey which they loved.
All the children helped collect egg boxes to make a bee hive, they all showed great taking turns and listening to instructions. The children have joined in making bee crafts to take home, they showed great independence when cutting and sticking their bee together. Weve listened to a bee story called 'the very busy bee' and sung lots of songs.🎢
