Today our Childcare trainees received the privilege of meeting with the Training and Development manager, Charlotte from Acorn Early Years Foundation. What an amazing opportunity!

At Acorn, we’re proud to support the next generation of early years professionals.
Today, our Training & Development Manager, Charlotte, spent time with trainees aged 18–21 who are training through MKCF’s childcare social enterprise. It was a great opportunity to talk honestly about careers in childcare, answer their questions, and explore pathways into paid roles within the sector.
We love having these conversations and helping young people see the real opportunities a career in early years can offer.

Sadly, our two Cycle Saviours vans were targeted last night outside our workshop by thieves stealing catalytic converters. Both vans have received significant damage and are currently off the road.

This has obviously affected the work we can do as a bike workshop, with the community, and most importantly with the young people we work with. But, we'll carry on!

We've reported this to the police and our insurers, but it leaves us in a difficult position for a week or two. Do we have any friends who work in the vehicle rental business or van sales that could help us temporarily? Maybe there's a deal to be done?!

We've got bikes we need to deliver, bikes to collect, as well as bike servicing contracts with schools and local organisations we need to fulfil.

This event is a great opportunity to explore our facilities, meet our team, and learn more about what we offer. We warmly welcome all visitors to attend.
