On Friday, the children in 6JdB used their inference skills and knowledge to analyse historical sources and determine the events and circumstances which caused World War II. From this, they have learned that there was not a single cause. After, they ranked these according to their importance.

6JdB had a WONDERFUL free writing session on Friday. The children had a picture as their stimulus (people in London during WWII gathered in an underground station to shelter from an air raid). It was an absolute joy to see the pleasure and pride the children showed whilst writing. A few children in particular were extremely proud of their work. The children could choose what genre they wanted to write in: songs, narratives, diary entries and even a rap! What an enjoyable morning!!!

This week, 6JdB had the opportunity to look at some primary sources from WW2. Mrs G kindly brought in these amazing resources, which were kept in her family. The flag was given to her family member when they were 6 years old to wave on VE Day. There are also many letters, money, documents etc. How fascinating!

We had the iPads out today in 4EM during maths. The children completed Place Value challenges based on their learning so far. It was most enjoyable.

Year 4 have started a group to have fun with words on a Wednesday morning. We met for the first time today and looked at how dialogue can be used effectively.

Sewing in Year 4 this afternoon. This is usually a reason for the teacher's head to explode but 4AC were incredible. Our sewing experts circulated the room and helped everyone to succeed. Mr Cook is a proud teacher this afternoon.

4EM have been classifying animals in science today. Some questions were quite tricky!
