Today, Highfields Sixth Form students achieved fantastic sets of results. This year saw a record number of university and degree apprenticeship applications – the majority of students securing their first-choice destination. This is a great achievement and a well-deserved reward for the determination that students have put in!

As ever, there were some remarkable individual performances. For example, Arashveer, who achieved an impressive four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics and Physics and will now take up a highly competitive place to study Economics. Ria will be taking up a brilliant Degree Apprenticeship with EY having achieved a fantastic three A*s in Economics, Business and Sociology. Ethan achieved A*s in Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics, as well as an A in Computer Science. He will be studying Mathematics at Warwick University.

A huge congratulations to all of our Sixth Form students. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success in the next chapter.

Well done to the Class of 2026!

Bounce into Summer:

Lower School and Year 12 students enjoyed a brilliant end of year reward. A whole collection of colourful inflatables and bouncy castles transformed our large sports hall. Students cooled off with refreshing drinks and ice lollies, making the most of a sunny final week together. A fitting reward for good attendance, strong progress reports and being kind to others in and around school.

A flashback to the end of last term where our Year 7 studied human rights. This helped them to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of dignity, equality, freedom, and justice for all people.
They explored topics such as discrimination, child labour, human trafficking, inequality, and restrictions on freedom of expression through research, discussions, and case studies from around the world.
As part of their learning, they prepared presentations to share their findings. They used examples and visual aids to build their ability to present complex topics in an organised and respectful manner demonstrated both their knowledge and communication skills.

IT’S ALIVE!

The team spent 2025-26 rebuilding the F24 car including fitting wooden body panels inspired by our trip to Morgan. We have also added a 3D printed air scoop designed by Jeevan to aid battery/motor heat management and upgraded various parts to make the car faster. The RC trophy trucks have also been a hit with pupils building ramps and obstacles to learn about racing lines and handling. Jeevan has been voted as Team Principal for the 26/27 season and hope to compete in the national events next year.

Congratulations to our wonderful group of Y9 students who have graduated from The Brilliant Club 'Young Scholars' programme! Students took part in a series of university style seminars with a PhD tutor and completed a 2,500 word essay concerning the meaning of 'Heritage' in order to be able to graduate at the University of Manchester. Well done to our fantastic students for their eagerness and enthusiasm!

Our recent Duke of Edinburgh environmental project involved upcycling old railway sleeper to help a local centre. Three students in the group worked during the evenings to build and install a new bench for the centre in their own time. This was a great example of young people learning practical skills and making a lasting contribution for others.
