🎨 A creative evening, just for you…

Fancy switching off for a couple of hours and getting lost in your own little world of watercolour? 🖌️

Join us for a Tim Burton Inspired Watercolour Workshop this October, where you’ll design and paint your own quirky, gothic character or creature.

We’ll start with some sketching and character ideas before exploring watercolour techniques so you can create something completely your own. 🧑‍🎨

Whether you’re a keen artist, a complete beginner, or simply fancy a relaxing evening away from the usual routine, you’re very welcome.

And yes… there’ll be a delicious hot chocolate to enjoy while you paint. ☕️🤎

Perfect for a creative night with a friend, a little solo time, or a couple of hours away from the kids! 😉

🎨 HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! 💜

My new Little Art Lab flyers have arrived and I’m looking for a few more lovely local places to display them!

You can already find them at:

📍 Wolverhampton Arts Centre
📍 Emma’s HumBugs Café
📍 The Qattery
📍 Small Wonders Stay & Play

A huge thank you to these lovely local businesses for helping me spread the word! 💜

Now I’d love your suggestions…

Where else should I take some? 👀

Do you know a café, playgroup, soft play, library, school, nursery, community group or other family-friendly venue that might be happy to display a few?

Or perhaps you run a local business or group yourself and would like some?

👇 Tag them below or send me a message!

Every flyer helps my small business reach a new family, so thank you for helping me spread the word. 🎨💜

I’m so pleased to have been featured in the Express & Star since becoming a resident at Wolverhampton Arts Centre. 🎨

It’s been quite a journey since starting Little Art Lab earlier this year, and it’s lovely to see it recognised in the local community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the business so far! 💜

A little milestone for Little Art Lab 💜

I’m so pleased to have been featured in the Express & Star!

I started Little Art Lab earlier this year with the hope of creating fun, creative experiences for children in the local community, so it’s really lovely to see the business being recognised locally.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, booked a class or workshop, shared a post, or simply followed along so far. It really does mean a lot. 😊

This week in Young Artists, we explored the illustrations of Axel Scheffler and discussed some of the distinctive features of his illustration style.

We started by acting out different feelings and personality traits, thinking about how a character’s facial expression and body language can tell us something about who they are.

We then explored how clothing, accessories, shapes and other visual details can give us clues about a character’s personality and story.

After completing a character design sheet to develop our ideas, the children created their own final character designs.

It was fantastic to see such a variety of characters emerge, each with their own personality!

This week, our Tiny Creatives stepped into the magical world of The Gruffalo! 🌲

We read the brand-new Gruffalo Granny story and got creative with all things woodland themed.

🎨 Made adorable footprint owls
🍁 Used our fingerprints to create autumn trees
👐 Explored playdough to mould our very own Gruffalos
🌲 Worked together on a big collaborative forest painting

I love giving little hands the opportunity to explore, create and get messy while developing those all-important fine motor skills. 💜

✨ Want to join us next time? Our Tiny Creatives sessions are designed for little ones aged 9 months–2 years.

Today in Home Ed Art Lab, we took our inspiration from the incredible nature art of Andy Goldsworthy and created our own artwork using things we could find in nature.

Using leaves, sticks, stones, pinecones, conkers and more, the children worked creatively to bring The Gruffalo to life, creating owls, foxes, the Gruffalo himself and other characters from the story. 🌿

The children experimented with shapes, textures, composition and arranging their materials to create recognisable characters.

They did an amazing job and should be proud of their creations!
