Four children from Year 5 represented Rakegate in a Maths challenge at Wolverhampton Girls' High School this week.
Wear a Hat Day! Help us to raise awareness this Friday (25th March) by wearing a hat to school. This charity is close to our hearts as it played a very important part in one of our staff’s lives not so long ago. March has been ‘Brain Tumour Awareness’ month and this is a great way of raising its awareness. For more details, please go to:

6JG were joined by the Molineux Roadshow. The Molineux Roadshow looks to engage and inspire schools using the Wolverhampton Wanderers brand through delivering Educational workshops. 6JG engaged in a 1 hour workshop delivered by Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation Staff today and really enjoyed playing the games, being competitive and getting active!
Year 6 have been working on their team building skills in PE. They learnt to balance safely with control to perform a pyramid balance.
Reception to Year 6 children entitled to benefits-related Free School Meals are being offered support during the Easter 2022 holiday fortnight. Eligible children will be able to collect a food parcel and access HAF-funded activities with meals provided at the activity venue for free, funded through the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme and Household Support Fund.

RAKEGATE NEWSLETTER 18.03.2022 This week in school has been Science Week, children have been taking part in workshops and science lessons. Year 2 have visited Dudley Zoo and Reception went to West Midlands Safari Park. Look furthe
On Tuesday, Year 2 visited Dudley Zoo. Lots of fun was had by all.
Year 4 have been busy this week! Yesterday, they took part in a Science workshop with Super Sonic Sue. Today, they are supporting Comic Relief by dressing up as superheroes and in Red Nose Day outfits.
Year 5 enjoyed a Science workshop this morning. They learnt about chemical reactions and the colour of acids and alkalines on the pH scale. They learnt how to make a 'polymer' (also known as slime!)
As part of Science Week, Year 6 investigated how their body contains tiny machines called ‘proteins’. Proteins are made of smaller building blocks, called amino acids that form long chains. They built their own chains, and then explored how their order and shape makes them ‘bind’ with other molecules and therefore determines how they work.

Year 5 made vegetable soup using ingredients that might be grown in an allotment. They learnt peeling, chopping and slicing skills to prepare the vegetables and then wrote a recipe for how to make the soup as part of their topic this half term about 'Allotments'!
