A huge thank you to Animal Club for spending the day with our Reception children and introducing them to a whole host of exciting exotic animals.

The children were absolutely captivated — they learnt fascinating facts, asked brilliant questions and showed so much curiosity and confidence as they explored creatures they’d never seen up close before.

It was a wonderful, memorable experience that brought their learning to life.

A huge thank you to Dennis & Becca for visiting our school and delivering their fantastic Year 6 transition workshop, “Stepping Up with Confidence.”

Our pupils loved the session and gained so many practical strategies to help them feel ready, prepared and positive about their move to secondary school.

Thank you both for supporting our Year 6s as they take this exciting next step in their journey.

Thank you to ConnectEd for awarding St Mary's with our Platinum School Games plaque at the recent Primary Sports Presentation Evening. This School Games Platinum Award is a prestigious award for participation and contribution to sport in 2024-26!

The School Games Mark is a government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Every year, schools can apply to be considered for bronze/silver/gold award marks from School Games. The School Games adjudicators, judge each school against stringent criteria, in the areas of sports; participation, competition, staff and clubs, before determining the suitable award level.

St Mary's has successfully achieved a Gold Award for four consecutive years and we are delighted to have been awarded the highest level, Platinum Mark Award.

We are delighted to share the amazing news about our former St Mary’s pupil Grace.
Grace started playing the flute at St Mary’s and continued all through her time at OLSC.
This week, Grace received a very special award at The Civic Hall as she scored the highest mark at grade 6-8 in a Music Service public exam and was this year’s recipient of the Fraser Dukes award!

We are so proud of you Grace and you are an inspiration to our musicians at St Mary’s - you are proof that “out of little acorns, mighty oaks grow.”🤩🤩🤩🤩
