This year, alongside the general 2024 election, NEWA students took part in a parallel election! 🗳️📚 This initiative empowered young minds, giving them a taste of democracy.

By participating, students learned about the electoral process and the significance of voting as well as engaging in discussions about current issues and political platforms.

We have loved seeing our students getting a hands-on experience with the election process.

On Thursday, June 27th, our students marked a significant milestone with an evening filled with joy and elegance. The NEWA prom showcased stunning outfits, lively dancing, and unforgettable moments.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this night, especially Mrs Belstone and our Finance and Admin team – as well as our supportive parents, and of course, our remarkable students. Your efforts made this event truly special.

Take a look at these highlights from the evening. 📸

Monday, 24th June, our students had a blast on an overnight trip to Bushcraft in Northamptonshire! 🏕️

They camped under the stars, built shelters, made fires, and learned some cool wilderness survival skills.

Everyone jumped in and got their hands dirty, really connecting with nature. 🌿

What an unforgettable adventure!

Yesterday, our students had the incredible opportunity to experience a powerful and moving Windrush Legacy performance by the amazing team at Sudden Productions. 🎶✨

The performance was a beautiful blend of music and humour along with a serious message that left a lasting impact on all who attended. We are so grateful for this experience and for the chance to learn more about such an important part of our history.

A huge thank you to Sudden Productions for bringing this inspiring performance to our academy!

Our year 7 students enjoyed a day out last week to the Birmingham Hippodrome to see Jesus Christ Superstar written by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical explores gospels of the new testament whilst introducing 1970's rock music.

We hope our students enjoyed their experience of the musical and the theatre.

It is with regret that, due to an issue with the water supply, we are going to have to close Ormiston NEW Academy early today (Monday 29th April) to all children, except for those in Years 11 and 13. Children in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will leave site from 11.25am.

We recognise that this may cause some parents a level of inconvenience however, for health and safety reasons, we cannot accommodate all children on site with the limited water supply we currently have.

We will update parents as soon as the situation is resolved and should be open to all children as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 30th April).

Kind regards

Mr. C. Cooling

We are excited to welcome all students who have now been given a place for September 2024. If prospective parents are interested, we will be having a coffee morning on the Saturday 11th May from 11-1pm. We hope you will be able to join us.
