GCSE Results Day 2026

We’re looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 students back to NEWA for GCSE Results Day on Thursday 20th August.

Students can attend during this time to collect their results and speak to staff if they have any questions or need support with their next steps.

If you are unable to collect your results in person, a family member can collect them on your behalf. Please provide written permission confirming that they have your permission to collect your results.

Open Events 2026 (for a September 2027 start)

Ormiston NEW Academy is pleased to announce the dates for our 2026 Open Events. We warmly invite prospective students and their parents to join us on Tuesday, 29th September, from 5pm to 8pm. Additionally, we are excited to introduce three exclusive day tours, which will be held on Wednesday 30th September to Friday 2nd October. These tours will be available by appointment only*

This year's events are designed to provide a glimpse into life at the Academy. Visitors will have the opportunity to:

Explore Our Facilities: Tour our academy and experience the available facilities that Ormiston NEW Academy provide, including new renovations.

Meet Our Staff and Students: Engage with our dedicated teaching staff and interact with our students.

Experience Our Community: Participate in activities and information sessions designed for both children and adults.

All parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with Mr Craig Cooling, Principal of Ormiston NEW Academy since 2019. Mr Cooling is deeply committed to fostering an environment where students grow into motivated and successful individuals. Come and experience the pride we take in our achievements, the endeavour shown by our students, the strength of working together, and the pursuit of excellence that drives our academy forward.

For the open evening on Tuesday 29th September 2026, no prior booking is necessary; simply arrive and explore our academy at your own pace. For the day tours on 30th September, 1st and 2nd October, please schedule your visit in advance.

Last week, we celebrated Culture Week, giving our students the opportunity to learn about and appreciate the many cultures that make up our academy community.

To round off the week, on Friday students were invited to wear their own cultural dress, and it was fantastic to see the pride, individuality and diversity on display throughout the academy.

Together, we continue to celebrate the unique backgrounds, traditions and experiences that make our community stronger.

NEW Carnival 2026

A huge congratulations to Taylor!

Taylor recently took on the lead role of Eric in the musical Cursed at the Low Hill Community Centre, delivering an outstanding performance that had everyone in the audience captivated.

It was fantastic to see so many students and staff there to support him, and we all thoroughly enjoyed watching him shine on stage. Taylor performed with confidence, flair and incredible skill, showing just how passionate he is about performing.

After his brilliant performance in the academy production Bangarang, Taylor is now looking forward to joining KS4 Performing Arts in September and is already excited for the next school musical.

Congratulations, Taylor—you absolutely smashed it! We can't wait to see where your talent takes you next.

Our students enjoyed a great day yesterday at the Wild Zoological Park, where they had the opportunity to learn about a variety of animals and their habitats while exploring the park.

The visit gave students a chance to connect what they've been learning in the classroom with real-world experiences, making it both educational and enjoyable.
