🌒✨ LOOK TO THE SKIES – A SOLAR ECLIPSE! ✨🌒

Tomorrow gives us a wonderful opportunity to marvel at the beauty and wonder of God’s creation as we experience a solar eclipse. 🌍☀️🌙

A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, temporarily blocking some or all of the Sun’s light. It is an incredible reminder of the scale, precision and wonder of the universe around us.

At Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy, moments like this encourage us to be curious, to ask questions and to appreciate the extraordinary world God has entrusted to our care. 💙💛

🙏 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — Psalm 19:1

⚠️ Remember: Never look directly at the Sun during an eclipse without certified eclipse-viewing glasses or another recognised safe viewing method. Ordinary sunglasses do not provide sufficient protection.

May this inspire our young people to have questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge and a sense of awe and wonder at God’s creation. 🌎✨

💙💛✝️

☀️ With schools out for the summer, it's the perfect time to get moving together!

Why not take part in a local junior parkrun on Sunday morning? Open to children aged 4–14 and their families, you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or simply cheer from the sidelines.

The latest Health and Wellbeing Survey shows that taking part in junior parkrun helps children feel happier, more confident and prouder of themselves, while making being active more enjoyable.

At Active Black Country, we're passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy the benefits of moving more. Supporting activities like junior parkrun helps families build healthy, active habits together and brings our mission to life by making physical activity accessible, enjoyable and inclusive for all.

Children are being given the chance to fall in love with reading as part of this year's Summer Reading Challenge, which is now underway across Wolverhampton's libraries.

This year’s theme, Read to the Beat, celebrates the joy of music and the power it has to move, inspire, and connect people through the magic of reading. It is brought to life with illustrations by award-winning author and illustrator, Harry Woodgate.

Participants can take part in competitions and will receive a certificate and medal on completion of the challenge, with the city’s libraries hosting dozens of free activities over the coming weeks.

Councillor Jeszemma Howl, Cabinet Member for Governance and Digital, said: "There is something truly magical about opening a book and finding yourself completely lost in another world. The Summer Reading Challenge is a wonderful way to encourage children to experience that magic for themselves while having fun, building confidence, and enjoying everything our libraries have to offer.”
