Making Mixtures - following the coding instructions for making pancake batter - BNS we are STEM
The science of making pancakes - the children have had some really positive learning experiences making their pancakes. Developing scientific skills, making observations as materials are combined, noticing the changes caused by heating, developing their language and vocabulary. 💡💡💡

Growing Together - At Bushbury Nursery School we know how important it is to nurture our children so that they can flourish and build strong caring relationships.
This week is Children's Mental Health Awareness Week. The Theme this year is "Growing Together".

We have had a super week finding out about the Chinese New Year and all the festivities associated with it. The children have absolutely loved all the wide ranging, sensory experiences that have taken place - we all took part in a dragon dance!

On Friday the children joined together to make a bird hide. There were high levels of interest in the birds visiting the garden - we found out that there are a great number of gulls in this area!
Just spotted, it's a windy day but this little robin isn't put off!

Further investigations into the use of light and shadow in the blocks area - figures have been placed along the structures created and Iron Man has morphed into reality!
Amazing interest and focus in the blocks area this week. The children have collaborated to create an evolving palace structure.

This is the season of Lohri. December and January are the coldest months of the year in Punjab and huge bonfires are lit on the eve of Sankranti. Sweets, sugarcane and rice are thrown on the bonfires and friends and relatives gather together.
