Monday's opening evening and 'private view' of the Art and Design Technology exhibition was a great success. Many students came with family and friends to celebrate their achievements.
The Art 'extravaganza' will run throughout the week. It began with a 'drawing with light' photography workshop, and a local photographer Liza Lutton helped deliver the YR9 slow shutter speed workshop with some great results.
Several other events will run throughout the week, including an Open Evening this Thursday for local residents to visit the exhibition and create their own art. This will run from 5-7 pm and will be held at the school in the Main Hall, accessible via the Main Reception; no booking is necessary

What a fantastic day our YR10 students had at RAF Cosford last week for their Employability Skills Day. Students participated in a rotation of 8 workshops, including rocket building, team building exercises, a college information session, a careers quiz and many more. Students participated in a 'Mock Interview' with an employer and were assessed on their application and how they responded in the interview itself; all interviewers were asked to nominate a student for 'The Student I Would Most Likely Employ' which is fantastic to see; students who were nominated received a letter from the Headteacher congratulating them on this! Their names will be put into a draw for their end-of-term assembly, and the winner will receive £30 worth of high street vouchers. A huge thank you to all employers who took part in the day. Bilbrook Parish Council have asked that we share a Young People/Youth Survey with students.

The aim is to create links between the Parish Council and young people in the area so that they can understand what young people want and view as important. They seek to understand young people's perspectives to help them plan activities and resources in the future.

Please take time to share this link with your children https://ow.ly/qMVM50P8mZg

Thank you on behalf of Bilbrook Parish Council

Upcoming Event - Sport & Enterprise Day - Monday 24th July 2023

This year, we have decided to combine Sports Day with an Enterprise Fair where tutor groups will compete against each other to sell products and run stalls while sports events are taking place to raise as much money as possible for charity. In ordinary circumstances, we would raise money for our house charities.; but we have decided this year to donate all money raised to Birmingham Children's Hospital in memory of Myles-Junior Christie. Tutor groups in Years 9, 10 and 12 will be getting their thinking caps on over the next few weeks to come up with ideas of how to spend their budget for products to sell at the fair. If you or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring the Enterprise Fair or has items to donate that students could sell at the fair, please get in touch with Mrs Kiely at the school, who can provide you with further details at [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support
