Back in April, we wished good luck to Michael Davies from our Year 11 EHE Introduction to Landbased group at as he prepared to represent the UK at the GKR Karate World Cup.

We're now delighted to share that Michael has returned with a silver medal in team kumite and a bronze medal in team kata! 🥈🥉🥋

A huge congratulations from everyone here at the college, Michael! 👏

What an incredible weekend!
The very best of GKR Karate competitors came together in Telford UK to showcase their skill, determination and spirit at the 2026 GKR Karate World Cup.

Every student who stepped onto the mat represented themselves, their dojo and GKR Karate with pride. Their sportsmanship and outstanding performances made their families, friends and Sensei incredibly proud. A huge congratulations to every competitor, official, volunteer and supporter who helped make this event such a memorable success.
Thank you to everyone who made the 2026 World Cup an unforgettable tournament. We can't wait to see you at the next one!

GKR students will once again have the chance to compete for the coveted title of World Champion at the GKR Karate World Cup, being held at the Telford International Centre, Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July 2026l

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE A BLACK BELT TO BECOME A WORLD CHAMPION!
World Cup divisions are available for students of all ages and grades, giving everyone the opportunity to compete for the label of World Champion. For the first time ever, individual kata and kumite medal winners will also be awarded a special badge to sew on their gi as an ongoing recognition of their World Cup achievement.

The World Cup is happening right here on your doorstep. Whether you're an experienced competitor or thinking about entering your very first tournament, this is a chance to step onto the world stage and compete at a truly international event.

We’re excited to be able to provide our White and Yellow Belt students an opportunity to compete in the 2026 World Cup and gain valuable tournament experience with our new Kihon and Kick Shield Sumo events.
