Beech class had a lovely last swim session of this half term, yesterday. After swimming, we visited the cafe and continued to read social sight cards and also signs around the leisure centre. One of our students is learning to read braille and has been practising this by putting her skills to use in the community.
Fantastic effort all round this half term Beech class!

Today is Safer Internet Day! Some of our pupils thought about how to take action for a safer, more inclusive and empowering digital world!

One of our Teaching Assistant’s husbands, is raising vital funds for school by running the Manchester Marathon 2025! Chai Mithai Project Wolverhampton – Parent/Carer Coffee Morning
Chai Mithai is a project that challenges myths surrounding learning disability and autism in South Asian communities. They are a team made up of disabled people and family members from South Asian communities, as well as experienced professionals who work with people with a learning disability and autism.
They are holding an informal coffee morning on March 13 at the Cherry Street SEND and sensory hub, Wolverhampton WV3 0QR from 10.00am - 11.15am where families can explore these issues in a supportive environment.
The project is focused on working with families from South Asian Communities so if you could please share the flyer with relevant families of young children who may either have a diagnosis of learning disability or there is a likelihood that their child may have a learning disability or be autistic and they have not yet been diagnosed. More info on the flyer here:

Poppies enjoyed working with Lee from 'Engagedu' focusing on Data Collection. We used an app to learn and identify different temperatures around school. We compared which rooms are the warmest and coldest using Celsius, then looked at the biggest number being the warmest and the lowest number being the coldest.
After this, we used an app to collect data about the favourite drinks of staff and pupils at Green Park! Poppies class used their communication skills to ask people what drink they liked, then pressed this data symbol on the app, which counted the number of people who chose each drink! We had a great time learning some new skills and using new apps! Thank you Lee!
