Just back from an incredible weekend at a children's and youth conference—so much inspiration and insight!
The event kicked off on Friday with some serious fun and games… and somehow, we ended up winning a competition by creating Donald Trump out of cereal! Who knew that was even possible?
My key takeaways from the weekend:
✅ The growing influence of technology on young people—The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt is now on my reading list!
✅ The power of just one person to make a lasting impact on a child's life. We can be that difference.
✅ AI—its dangers, its possibilities, and how it’s shaping the future.
✅ The crucial role of attachment in early childhood development.
So many important conversations and so much to reflect on! If you've read The Anxious Generation, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Lets celebrate national love you pet day
🐾 Pets & Early Learning 🐾
Did you know that having pets can support young children’s development in amazing ways? 🐶🐱🐰
✅ Teaches empathy & kindness – Caring for animals helps children understand feelings and build compassion.
✅ Encourages communication & confidence – Talking to pets and sharing experiences boosts language skills.
✅ Supports emotional well-being – Pets offer comfort, reducing stress and anxiety.
✅ Builds responsibility & routine – Feeding, grooming, and caring for a pet teaches important life skills.
I go into so many settings where pets, including schools where dogs wander around classrooms freely, create a warm and engaging atmosphere. The children are not only excited but also take responsibility—helping the pets understand routines and caring for them with such kindness. It’s a beautiful two-way learning experience! 🏫🐾
In nurseries, we can bring these benefits into play! Whether it’s a nursery pet, interactive animal visits, or pet-themed activities, we can create engaging learning experiences that foster children's growth.
