🍭 JULY & AUGUST AT LOLLIPOPS 🍭

What a busy and fun July and August we’ve had! We’ve enjoyed so many exciting adventures together, including visits to National Trust sites and local parks, creating assault courses in the garden, building ramps for our cars, and lots of splashing about with water play.

July and August are always bittersweet months for Dolley and JoJo. We love welcoming back our older Lollipops during the school holidays and making even more special memories together. At the same time, we prepare to say goodbye to our Lollipops who are leaving us to begin their next big adventure at school.

To all of our Lollipops leavers, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. Thank you for being such an important part of our Lollipops family. 🍭💜 We wish you lots of happiness, confidence and success as you start this exciting new chapter. Remember, you’ll always have a very special place in our hearts and we hope you’ll come back and visit us soon!

🍭 JUNE AT LOLLIPOPS 🍭

During June, we were lucky to enjoy some lovely hot weather! We talked with the children about the importance of staying safe in the sun, including wearing sun cream and keeping hydrated.

The children had lots of fun with water play, exploring pouring and emptying using a variety of containers. These activities helped to develop their fine motor skills and introduced early mathematical concepts such as capacity.

We also took a trip to the shops, where the children had their own small trolley. They enjoyed counting the items they collected and comparing quantities with their friends. We used mathematical language such as more, less, the same, one more and one less to support their understanding of number and comparison.

The children thoroughly enjoyed washing the bikes, working together to make them nice and clean.

We also explored a variety of activities using recycled bottle lids. The children sorted the lids by colour, matched colours, counted objects, created repeating patterns and developed their fine motor skills by placing the lids into containers.

🍭 MAY AT LOLLIPOPS 🍭

The children have learnt all about the lifecycle of a butterfly and had the exciting opportunity to release butterflies after watching them grow and transform.
🐛➡️🦋

They have used wooden planks, crates and recycled tyres to create their own imaginative play structures, including a car, a see-saw and balance beams. It was lovely to observe them working as a team, problem-solving and carefully handling the materials.

The children shown a huge interest in learning about magnets. We explored the environment together to discover which objects were magnetic. We observed lots of wonderful scientific language.
🧲🌲🧑‍🔬💭

We visited a very wet Kingswood, where we explored the woods, developed our balance and coordination through outdoor play and enjoyed meeting the chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits.
