A huge congratulations to Keira on passing her driving test FIRST TIME today! 🎉🚘🛂🎟️🅿️

3/3 test passes this week 🥳🥳🥳 Hat-trick!

You only started learning in February and have worked so hard to get this result. You’ve taken all the feedback on board and put in the extra practice with your Mom in your own car and it’s paid off!

A big thank you to your Mom for all her support and for being your biggest cheerleader! 📣 🙌🏽

It’s been a pleasure teaching you, Keira. You’ve been a lovely pupil and I wish you all the best for the future.

Now let’s get you on that motorway! 🛣️🚘

🎉 A huge congratulations to Philip on passing his driving test today
FIRST TIME, with just 1 driver fault! 🚘👏🏽

If only you knew the stress we had this morning before his test! 😅🛞

But when it mattered, Philip stayed calm, composed and focused, delivering a first-class drive. The examiner even commented on what a beautiful drive it was. 🧿🍬😂

Philip has consistently taken on board feedback throughout his lessons and worked hard to improve. His progress has been fantastic, and getting regular practice in with his partner, Shannon (who I also had the pleasure of teaching) has really helped accelerate his development.

Thank you, Shannon — teamwork really does make the dream work! 🙌🏽👍🏽🅿️

If you have access to a suitable car and can get out to practise safely and legally, do it! Quality private practice can make such a difference to your confidence, experience and overall development.

Well done, Philip. Enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with passing your test , you’ve earned it! 🥳🚘🎟️🛂

Stay safe and keep striving for progress, not perfection. 😌

SEVENTH TIME LUCKY! 🚗💨 and a PASS! 🙌
(not all with me 😜)

You’ve tested my patience no end with your cheek but you’re a genuinely lovely lad who never gave up!

After six attempts at keeping the examiners busy, you finally gave them no choice but to hand you that pass certificate! 👏
It’s not always a first time pass and zero minors. It’s reality and that sometimes looks like being resilient and digging deep when you feel like giving up!

I couldn’t be happier for you. Massive congratulations Josh, enjoy your well-earned freedom! ❤️🚗

We’re making some subtle but meaningful changes to the practical driving test. 🚗

You may have seen that we have been trialling changes to the driving test at 20 driving test centres.

As part of the trial, learners drove on routes containing more high-speed, rural roads during their driving test, where location allowed. Now, we are rolling out the changes to all driving test centres in Great Britain from 24 November 2025.

As well as increasing the amount of time spent on higher-speed roads, we are:

✅ reducing the number of stops during the test from 4 to 3
✅ lowering the frequency of emergency stop exercises from 1 in 3 tests to 1 in 7
✅ adding flexibility to the independent driving segment, allowing it to run for the full duration of the test

These changes are designed to help improve road safety by better replicating the conditions motorists face in the real world. They won’t affect the skills needed to take a driving test.
