All Saints Day Nursery

All Saints Day Nursery We are an OFSTED registered Nursery catering for up to 39 children at any one time rated as "Good". We can take children from 2 - 5 years old.

The All Saints Day Nursery is open from 9.00-3.30 , Monday to Friday. All Saints Day Nursery was registered in 2009. It is situated in a purpose built building in All Saints area of Wolverhampton and children have access to an enclosed outdoor play area. The setting is open from 9.00-3.30 five days a week, Monday to Friday. We are Ofsted registered as a "Good" Nursery. A maximum of 39 children may attend at any one time. The setting is registered on the Early Years Register and the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register. The setting supports children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language. The setting employs 10 members of staff to work with the children. All staff hold an appropriate Level 3 early years qualification or above. All staff have accessed training in Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety and Child Protection training. A practitioner has undergone ELKLAN training which encourages pre-school children's communication skills. All Saints Day Nursery is registered with OFSTED to care for 39 children. We can accommodate children aged between 2 and 5 years.

The pre-school children have been making attachments with their Key person through activities during their outdoor and indoor play. They have been washing baby dolls during their water play, exploring dinosaurs in ice as well as moulding the green playdough with a range of resources to teach them features of their faces.

They have enjoyed making marks with paint brushes in the flour with glitter and listened to traditional stories. We have been promoting their independence by encouraging them to pour their own drinks at snack time and to choose their cutlery at lunch time.

During Outdoor play the children were playing in the mud kitchen and dug up some soil, put it into a bowl with some small stones before putting a layer of soil in the bottom of a large jar. Following this, they added a small layer of sand and also added more soil. Together they added some dandelion leaves before digging in the mud kitchen and finding two very wriggly worms and carefully placing them into the jar.

The story of the Tigress was read to one of our children who was interested in the Tigers and baby cubs. He looked at the front cover and could use vocabulary to state the Tiger and the cubs as well as how they camouflage within the grass when hunting.

He knew how they use their noses to sense and smell others. He was very keen to tell the Practitioner how Tigers move from one den to another and could describe what the Tiger looked like and could point out the wild pig and knew that the Tiger was going to hunt the wild pig for his cubs.

His interest grew to state that Tigers live in a hot country and need to cool off entering the water, continuing this theme he went home and found a book related to the jungle with other different animals and the next day he brought it into Nursery to share with staff and children.

Following this interest he has been looking at other safari animals and will be painting them.
